What happened? Description:

tl;dr – guy’s asking people to trade/buy an item supposedly worth an equivalent of his knife, when in reality the item is worth a few cents.

The accused has opened a CS:GO trade at http://csgolounge.com/trade?t=89513900 in which he put his Karambit Knife | Fade (Factory New) for sale, saying he’s quitting CS:GO. I added him to ask whether he’d be interested in TF2 Unusuals for his knife. It turned out he’s after some Autographed Dota 2 item, and asked me for adding someone else for this item, because he can’t do that himself. He also said that when I’ve obtained the item, he’d give me his knife (chatlogs 1 and 2.)

Later on I added the person he linked me to, and had a brief conversation, imitating my interest in said item. We “negotiated” a bit, and he sent me a trade offer. A while later he said that he “has to go soon”, so I ended the conversation (chatlogs 3 and 4.)

This same exact thing just happened to me. I was thinking there was some crazy chance he was just giving away his CS:GO items due to the "Quitting CS:GO" desciption of the trade. As I was talking to him he requested I do the same thing you have specified here, I looked him up and found this report.

Bumping this topic, because apparently after changing his nickname and avatar, he started doing that again.
Screens present the same type of trade on CSGOLounge and the same CS:GO inventory.
