What happened? Description:

Backpack.tf's Automatic trade confirmation program has a previously unknown bug/backdoor that allows an incoming trade offer to ask for all of a user's refined metals on top of a listed sale and it will be automatically accepted.

I listed a Strange Sniper Rifle with parts for sale at 1 key using Backpack.tf Automatic. The reported user exploited the bug/backdoor to trade 1 key for my Strange Sniper Rifle plus all the refined metals in my inventory (330).

I'm sure this is just a throwaway scam account but a mark will at least prevent further victims. Although I doubt Steamrep will get around to it anytime soon.​

Might help to track down the owner of the scam account.

Same user tried to steal my refined. I had already upgraded to a new version without the bug, so the attempt was unsuccessful.

The user exploited a bug in Backpack.tf's Automatic trade offer accepting program. The only step involved is the screenshotted trade offers provided by 2 users in this thead.

If you take the time to think about the circumstance and then tell me what proof you want me to provide (there was no chat or anything beyond the trade offer), then I will provide it.

Meanwhile the reported user has been banned on Backpack.tf and Steam trade banned due to this. So you fellas at Steamrep can go back to doing nothing.
