The guy asked to buy paint, We entered trade window and he asked to also buy a diamondback. He added a scrap and I added a normal diamondback. He said "no strange" so I switched it for a strange one, and then asked him if I had advertised it for 1 scrap to which he replied yes I had. I wasn't sure because I do have some stranges up for 1 scrap (see here http://bazaar.tf/trade/37351) but I didn't want to take up his time checking so I trusted him and did the deal. He then deleted me. I looked at my trades right afterwards and turns out it wasn't that one, so I added him again and asked for the scrap, he refused.

Even though he said he "scammed you" it felt sarcastic. I mean, you did the trade for the scrap and even said the blame was on you for not knowing what your own item was priced at. I dont, this one just seems to be up in the air and more or your fault.

Unfortunately, this is not a scam. A dirty trading practice, but not a scam.
You're mostly at fault for this, you should have checked/known your selling prices.
