    Dear Admin,
I finally set up a SteamRep account today, as I am starting to trade larger value items so realised SteamRep would be useful. I was quite surprised to find I had been reported for 'Item Misrepresentation'.
After reading the report, and the looking at the screenshot, I realised that it was a joke my friend and I had done several months ago. My friend was at my house and we were on a trade server, and my friend and some other people were joking about how Cancerous and bad a dirty batters helm was and how it was the worst the hat in the game. So as a joke, my friend name tagged my Dirty Batter's Helm, 'Flaming Team Captain' a reference to the most valuable hat in the game. Lots of people on the server had a good laugh when it came up on the chat that it'd been renamed to that.
Anyway, onto why the guy reported me. Soon after the Batter's Helm was renamed, a trader posted a standard message along the lines of, 'Selling Unusual XYZ, Trade Me' into chat. My friend thought it would be funny to trade him and offer it on his unusual (http://forums.steamrep.com/attachments/derping-png.3407/) . I think this is where the issue needs to be cleared up. The trader clearly misinterpreted my friends joke, and so reported me for scamming. I don't blame him, as it could well of appeared that I was some type of horrifically bad scam.
Soon after, my friend also put up a fake trade on Outpost: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/3534804. Which got shut down for being a 'Troll Trade' and got me a 1 day ban: http://imgur.com/ks8Ca
This whole 'Flaming Team Captain' thing was just a little joke between me and my friend and I never intended it to get me reported for scamming.
Feel free to look at my OutPost and see that I am in fact a legitimate trader and donator: http://www.tf2outpost.com/user/44780
As to what happened to the Batters Helm, I raffled it away, on tf2 raffle (along with many other things)

Sorry to write such a long appeal, but I just want this whole issue to be cleared up, and hopefully you now realize it was just a misinterpreted joke (and a stupid joke at that) Feel free to ask me any questions and thank you for your time.

Looks like a legit appeal to me, but I'm not the one who will decide from that.
But do you have any screenshots of the trade server chat or anything that can prove your innocence?

Unfortunately I don't have any screenshots of the chat as it was several months ago, and it never occurred to me that I'd need it to file a SteamRep appeal. I only have a screenshot of the Outpost ban, because I took it to show my friend. The actual trade screenshot I have borrowed from the trader who reported me.

I started to look into your appeal today and it looks like you haven't gotten over your trade trolling.

Your name is "Dave Selling Buds 1 Gibus Each" and you have pretended to be "mix^ harbleu", "Taggerung", and "b4nny". Impersonation is a huge problem with scammers right now and adding confusion to that really causes problems for the trade community. These cannot be blamed on your "friend" being at your house.

This is not the way to build a reputation such that (1) you are offering what you say you are offering and (2) that you are who you say you are.

Your appeal is denied for now, but in 3 months you should resubmit an appeal (or PM me directly) for a re-evaluation. Our intent isn't to punish trolling but you haven't learned to curb that behavior when it comes to trading and I'm hoping you can get that under control long enough to get the tag removed.

I would support a reduction/removal if you can avoid mixing trading/trolling so that people can actually trust you when it comes to TF2 trading. If you still aim to mislead/troll people and newbies, then the CAUTION tag will be permanent so they'll know not to trust your silliness.
