Probably he wanted to hear other opinions on the appeal.

Well it doesn't seem like much of an idea in any case, since it isn't "your" appeal, and it is obviously concluded.

Having said that, you will find any of the SR people are quite happy to field questions and I can tell you there is no bias, I have had Helen on open server answering questions, and no matter how controversial she is most happy to respond. I cannot speak for the others, but I can promise you if you ever need a straight answer from SR, she is very forthcoming and very unbiased in open discussion or pm
