Break the bad and I were doing a paypal transaction for a galactic gateway burning question. $250 + 5 keys
I send the money
I get no trade notification
And it turns out, break sent it to an impersonator, because his account is compromised.
The trade offer was "cancelled", which means it was stopped on his side (since he was the one who sent the offer) and a new one was sent with the person above.
As you can see in the evidence, the impersonator of me has the unusual I was going to buy.​

these screenshots show the "cancelled" trade (cancelled means it was cancelled on his side, meaning he was hijacked by the accused above), the transaction of $250 + keys for a galactic gateway burning question, the proof it is in the scammer's backpack. and proof of the seller chat being him.​

I should let him post the ticket as its been proven it is on him, 100%. I’ve settled on waiting for my cashback but if he refuses to give it up I’m doing a chargeback

I'd like to address my point of view as well.
We were trading my Unusual Galactic Gateway Burning Question for cash through Paypal. He went first, and

Then, somehow it was cancelled and went to this person instead https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/145007712785268736/516735586950709258/unknown.png
Their account is banned now, however yesterday I went to check their inventory and it was more than 15+ pages of pure keys, with now my Unusual thrown in there too, so they've probably been around for a while.
I'm reluctant to believe that this impersonator somehow compromised my account through my Steam Authentication, and without me getting an e-mail about someone signing in on a different connection than mine.
I never rejected returning the payment, I haven't been online since 3:30 PM and didn't have a chance to reply.
As you can imagine, this is a really nasty situation. If I send the money back, I can't get my hat back and I'm left with nothing. If I keep the money, Infernape still didn't get the hat and now he's left with nothing.
This isn't an easy situation to correct, because neither of us can be happy with how this ends, unless somehow the hat comes back from this banned impersonator's account and we can officially complete the trade.
I'd also like to know if there's a way to prove that I wasn't compromised, if that's possible.
