    Scam Report

Report Type: [Money] Other cash fraud (webmoney, bitcoin, etc)
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 76561198040092504

    Victim profile: 76561198803770628

    What happened? Description:
The guy added me to buy items with BTC (he asked for Dota 2 items first but since I don't sell that, he proceeded to buy my CSGO knife).

He sent the offer first, which I did not accept. I sent the address and he sent the BTC. He was surprised when I said I was going to wait until the transaction had 3 confirmations (which is normal), and a minute after the transaction was gone and the BTC is nowhere to be found.

The BTC address I provided: 32vv9c9Y4tWzRAtrnPvbVqkszUez2UYPwG
The transaction generated when he sent it (no longer shows): https://blockstream.info/tx/547ccb724ecfa851bee3b3bcabefeab000396fc639d833ddb3ca4463ec37e167

    Provide Evidence:
Attached images of the full chat, his profile, the offer I declined, and the transaction shown on my Electrum wallet, all images are uncropped.

@Mar7in did you even trade with this user or did they decline? It is not uncommon for some to make a mistake in sending funds but if you didn't even send an item then we would really have no idea if they made a specific effort.

The guy sent the offer (as you can see in the chat). I had the offer open until after everything happened, he didnt reply ever again and deleted me since I said I was going to wait for 3 confirmations on the payment.

Didn't answer my question... did you even trade? How do you know the user didn't have issues with the transaction and just gave up? We can't assume all these things but they are possible is what I'm saying here.

No, the trade was not completed because I'm aware of double spend scams and did not accept the trade before making sure the BTC was safe.

What issues? Double spending is not an issue and doesn't just "happen", it's done on purpose. The guy sent the BTC, did not like the fact that I was waiting for 3 confirmations and quickly spent the BTC somewhere else so that it wouldn't get to me. He never intended to pay for my item. On top of that, add not answering and deleting me...

Anyway, feel free to close this report if you don't think there's enough evidence, he already got reported by a friend of mine who wasn't as careful as me for the exact same scam so it doesn't matter anyway: https://forums.steamrep.com/threads/report-76561198040092504-dota2-dota2-items.192559/

I didn't debate the double spend, I was just asking questions to fill the gaps in the description.
See when you make reports here you must explain them in better detail so others that review them can decide for themselves what is happening. You didn't explain all that so I asked. Other reports are entirely irrelevant to this one also...kinda odd that the user targeted two friends though...any reason for that you think?
    I'll review this again shortly.
