Short: scammed an unusual using promised gift card codes

Longer:
Unusual Blizzardy Copper’s Hard Top was offered in a trade. Scammer didn’t have the in-game money for it, his only valuable thing being an Unusual Peace Coupe D’isaster. He claimed to have money in Steam gift cards, though, something reasonable this time of year. He suggested that I trade him my hat, then he would give me the card codes. Seeing as his account didn’t have any rep, only about 250 hours on tf2 I didn’t want to go first. I both had more profile rep (I know that’s supposed to be regarded as fake, but it’s something) and knew scams, I declined. I suggested that he cash the cards for giftable games or that we use a middleman, both of which he rejected. After about an hour and a half of talking, I came up with the idea that we 1:1 unusuals, so that he gets the hat, I have insurance and that he would then give me his gift card codes, I would redeem them and trade his unusual back. He asked to sleep on it and we resumed the next morning.
The attached picture of a chatlog is from that morning. We traded 1:1 using the method described above, and he then defriended and blocked me. Later his profile was made private.

Thank you for filing a report. Unfortunately there's not enough information. Can you provide us with a screenshot of your conversation and a full uncropped trade history?

Unfortunately, I can't provide a full conversation picture because talking took place over multiple Steam sessions and it doesn't have chat logging .
