As of 4/30/15 this thread is re-purposed from "Ask a SteamRep Moderator" to what it is now.

Hi, welcome to the Ask a SteamRep Staff Member thread.

Feel free to ask us questions individually, or as a whole!

    Duties of our Staff Members

    Moderators
If you don't know what the moderators do, they process pending reports, and prepare them for admin review. They also may do general janitorial work to make sure the forum stays clean. They do not handle appeals however, only reports.

    Admins
Administrators finalize any reports processed by moderators. They also work on appeals, applications and any of the big important stuff that needs to be done.

    Staff List: http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/steamrep-staff-list.21022/

Have a nice day, and be sure to ask something. :D

    A line has a point, A, with co-ordinates (6, -4) and a point, B, with co-ordinates (-2, 7).

    a)
    i) What is the midpoint of points A and B?
ii) What is the gradient of the line?
iii) Find an equation of the line and express it in the form y=mx+c.

    Where'd you get -5/12 from?
    It's (7 - - 4)/(-2-6) aka 11/-8

Actually I think you used the set of numbers I had before I edited and changed them :V

    Length of string ∈{r,c,i} ± ∞.

Sorry if that's too broad of an answer.

Ok how about we lay off the frivolity, the idea of this thread is good. I am sure there are many people who have relevant and interesting things they would like to ask SR mods :)

I was one of the first daily helpers for about a month or two and spended about two hours a day helping people correct their format, make screenshots of their inventory and the usual things required for a report to be processed faster. After i joined the JAG community, i got approached by Helen if i had interest in becoming a SR moderator. A few weeks later i was accepted and we all ate cake.

    The cake was delicious.

The Cake is a lie, we hypnotized him, and let him think he ate a cake, but it was tracer fluids that allows us to follow everything he does.

all jokes aside. lets keep this thread serious. As a mod, do you ever have the right to expedite reports if you see someone has a flood of reports coming in about them meaning they are actively scamming? or do you just throw it into a queue and let the mods get to it in fashionly order?

If you had access to one tool or feature (in Steam or otherwise) that you don't currently have access to, what one thing would help you the most in working towards SteamRep's goals as a mod / admin?

If a scammer is on a spree, and we notice/hear from it those get done earlier.
But tbh, every scam report is after the fact. Some are very fast in posting it, others take a couple days to do so.
