Description:
I am currently trying to sell a Bills hat of mine on steam for a low tier unusual, I was sitting at my computer when I randomly recieved a firend invite from a person called Party_in_da USA. As this is not unheard of I added them and asked what they wanted. They wanted to trade a vintage fan o war for one of my Bills and my bud, I informed them that I was only looking for unusuals but that I'd look up the price anyway. Upon looking up the price and discovering that it was worth almost double what the person wanted I promptly accepted, despite feeling a little uneasy at the fact that they were selling it at such a loss.
What followed was roughly 5-10 minutes of talking, the person added a gift wrapped item which claimed to have a "Vintage fan o war" in. Instantly alarm bells started to ring for me as there was no way of knowing if it was really a vintage item or not, so i checked their profile. There they had a gift-wrapped half zatoichi, also called a "vintage half zatoichi" and a gift wrapped cozy camper, renamed the "Hat of undeniable wealth and respect". This is what really put me on edge, so I confronted them about it. Their response was a badly worded explanation about something to do with their friend which quite frankly made no sence to me. I also said that I was suspicous of the fact that they only had 13 hours of play time in TF2, which they did not respond to. What followed after that was a very long argument in which I tried to get them to unwrap to prove that it was actually a vintage fan o war, they claimed that someone else told them to do it before and then canceled the trade, making them lose a gift wrap. When I offered to replace it they also claimed that that person had done the same, and still left. I asked them the name of this person and after a very long pause they wrote down the name, but told me they were unsure if that was the name and that it was such a long time ago they didn't know if that was their name anymore. At this point I grew tired of the back and forth arguments and said what I had been thinking for a while, that the trade seemed very suspicous and that I was actually considering reporting them to SteamRep. They then started claiming that they should be reporting me, and that they would if I kept asking them to unwrap the fan o war. I explained that my case would more than likely be deemed higher than theirs as all they would be losing was a gift wrap, whereas if they were indeed scamming me as it seemed to me I would be losing a Bills and a bud. After I told them that they canceled the trade, I quickly copied the chat before the trade window closed but was only able to get half of the chat itself. They then removed me as a friend and made their profile friends only status so I could not persue them.
While I understand that I do not have much eveidence of them being a scammer, and that they may not have been, the behaviour they displayed forced me to believe that they were infact a scammer.
Thank you for reading this report, I hope that you come to a conclusion on what to do for this matter.

You could have highlighted the gift wrap to see if it was vintage or now also do you have any screen shots. Admins can't do anything with out screen shots.

This guy just added me offering a vintage fan o war for my Max's but the whole thing looked so shady, i googled a bit found this thread and sure enough he's friend with Party_in_da USA

Didn't take a screenshot but it was wrapped and the item name was yellow
