    Hello steamrep,

This guy attempted to scam me. I'm not sure if the chat is readable or not, but this guy hit the ready button after saying "wait 1 sec", this made me think that something was wrong and I moved my one of my items out of chat to stop his "ready to trade"! He said that the item he was giving was a promotion item and that it was worth a lot, while backpack.tf said that it was a normal craft hat and he wanted to trade for my things that were worth more than a craft hat!

    Thank you,
    Tobric

This isnt a scam this is sharking. steam rep admins can't mark him for this considering the price of items arent solely based off one price list & also some people make up their own prices and choose what they feel is accordingly because they disagree for what other people think their item should be worth.

Actually, I think this would be item misrepresentation (which, IIRC is a markable offense). The accused said that his item was a promotional item, which if true means that his item should have been of genuine quality. The item he put up was of unique quality and therefore he misrepresented his item.
This is also not sharking because the reporter is going off of backpack.tf prices, while the accused is going off of TF2 Spreadsheet prices. That aside, the accused is still misrepresenting his item.

Actually this is sharking as most people think the fedora will go up he may have just gotten his terms mixed up.

The accused could just be a moron and not know what genuine quality and just assume it is the promotional quality.

It's not possible to know clearly here if the accused has intent to scam here, as much this looks like a shark attempt. If so, and you mind, you can post this on Ace fortress or Mann co trade, who handle these reports.

    Archiving.
