I'm trying to come up with another word for sharker.
Would the word Con artist match? Or is there another word to use?

Most of the words I would suggest, could result in a prison term in certain countries.

    Why bother with synonyms?

Well, sharks are like clever scammers - they "steal" the items in another way hoping they won't get banned as it is "just a good deal"

I haven't heard the word sharker used in real life other then maybe with gamblers.
So wanted a word that we hear often on the news or constantly through out life.

    I would use "swindler".

To DataStorm and Venganza: Please do not violate the new site policies or I will have to report you (last time I checked neither Pony or Kitty come up in an urban or formal thesaurus when looking up the word shark. Sharks live in water and the other 2 trot/tread on land. :p

As dronefly said, "swindler" is probably the closest I can think of.

They definitely con people out of their goods but I wouldn't call them "artists."

Con men, swindlers, black market dealers, pawn men, scammers, that guy that ripped me off, and pick pockets are all ones I've heard them called.

    Maggot flavored scum of deception?

On a more serious note, I think shark is appropriate, the term loan shark is frequently used when referring to fraudulent loan providers, people who prey on other's lack of knowledge, so I think shark is the most appropriate term here.

I'd consider a TF2 con artist as a guy that pretends to be someone else or someone that tells you a non strange festive is a strange festive because its renamed. Just like how Cuttlefishes renamed his strange medigun to strange kritzkreig.
