I was on an unusual trade server trying to sell my O.Fire Le Party Phantom for Buds, or Keys to upgrade to an E.O.Fire Le Party Phantom. This guy sends me a trade, (his name was cipzZ at the time) and says he'll buy it for cash. I told him my paypal was down because I'm transferring my email address and that takes verification and all that. He told me it was for my Steam Wallet. At first I was wary, but then I remembered I had heard people talking about steam wallet trades and seen it in chat in other servers the day before, so I figured it was a legitimate trade. I went to his profile, and he had +rep for steam wallet and paypal trades, so I went for it. I almost had him go first, you know, like you should for this kind of thing, but I, for some reason, decided not to. He told me I would receive a notification, like when someone gifts you a steam game, or a carefully wrapped gift, when the trade window business was complete. So we ready'd up with my Party Phantom, made the trade. He said in our normal chat (I had added him because my hl2 crashed mid-way through the trade in-game) "Good luck and Happy Birthday" (Yep, scammed on my birthday). He immediately went offline, and I had not received any gift. I went and added him again. It was rejected. Now I am blocked. I went and looked at the +rep and discovered it's all from people on his friends list, so it may be a group scam. I added one of the +rep guys and was immediately blocked as well. I don't have the Steam Chat conversation because my Steam crashed as well after the trade and since he blocked me, I can't bring up the old chat history. :/ Here's what I can provide in screenshot form though.

OK, I don't really see compromising evidence there, do you have the chat you had with the accussed?​

The only way I know of how to get the chat back is if I'm able to friend him and send another message, now that Steam added the whole chat history thing. But he's blocked me, so I can't even try.
I have nothing in my inventory that shows gain off of this. The 2 Buds I have - 1 I got from Keys for selling a Pyromancer, and the other was a semi-birthday gift from a friend. My Pyro unusual is a gift from a friend, and my spy unusual I did a 1:1 trade on this same server earlier that day. If I had gained from this I'd have 165$ worth of keys, or three more buds in my inventory.
Do you know of anyway to find old chat or trade history?

Great, thank you. I mainly play Spy, so it's quite a loss for me. I was going to upgrade the effect on the same misc. I was considering adding him on my alt account, granted I can remember the info, would you recommend that, or not?
