So about 2 years ago I made a big mistake in scamming a guy, I know what I did was wrong and I will never do it again, the only reason I did it because I was dumb and immature, I had gotten scammed earlier trying to cash out because I was quitting the game then I decided, well I'm quitting anyways so I scammed the guy and I look back on that as the worst thing I could have done. Roughly 2 years later I come back to this game and catch the spark that got me interested in it, in the first place and now I can't do the thing I used to love which is trading, now everyone won't trade because of the one mistake I made 2 years ago. I tried to post an appeal and it got denied, is there anything I can do or am I gonna be a "scammer" forever? I will go on probation I will do anything just please let me be trusted again :( thank you for your time.

Don't think there is anything you can do. If you scam someone you will be permanently labeled as a scammer, for the most part.

You lost me as soon as I realized you did not mention any attempt now or years ago to repay the guy you scammed, that should have been done irrespective of anything.

I believe that if your appeal has been denied there are reasons ... so now and then you played, you lost deal w/i .

People can change yes, but they still have to bear responsibility for their action(s). In the STEAM world, that is having the scammer flag if you scammed. On paying back, you can go to the payment you received and return that via Paypal. Paying back is a requirement for appeal, but no warranty of it been granted.

Also, what is this guy doing in your FL:

    Quite some repute.

This is a life lesson, don't cheat and lie but do right by people. You're better learning these things in an online forum, it will put you in good stead IRL.

Also your appeal was easy to deny on the grounds that your first invalid appeal was lodged on a lie. Again, we can say someone has 'changed' but inherently, you still possess the same character traits which creates your behaviour. In relation to your appeal, you come back after '2 years' and lie from the start of the process. That tells us all we need to know.
