Description:
Scammer posed as a reputable sourceop trader (the person he was posing as: http://steamcommunity.com/id/76561198023969363/) made me an offer for an unusual trade I posted on the TF2 trading post. He offered paypal money for it and showed me "his" rep credentions, which I now know are fake, his steam profile, at the time was a perfect copy of the person he was posing as and seemed helpful enough. I tried checking his profile against this site's STEAMREP database to be sure, but the database was down at the time, I looked around at his profile and saw it was 3 years old, so foolishly I proceeded with the trade, an unusual hat AND the full Bioshock infinite genuine set for 80 dollars via paypal, of course, he didn't transfer the money and shortly after removed me from his friends list. Only after, when this site's database came back on, did I notice the profile URLs were different and that he was already reported here as a scammer.
