    Description:
He added me to sell buds. I wasn't precautious enough. Not to mention, SteamRep was down at the time. I stupidly went first as he seemed trustworthy, with a history of selling to trusted people. Didn't receive my earbuds after sending payment.

All the items from this person's backpack seems to be emptied out on the 11th or April:
    http://www.tf2items.com/profiles/76561198049424132?time=1334152977

This person now owns all of the items in the backpack:
    http://www.tf2items.com/profiles/76561198038896525/

I'm not sure if there is any connection but there might be a possibility of some kinda of backpack transfer.
If you check the items of all of the items before the backpack was emptied, they follow the same route.

I hope this information is useful somehow.

Just initiate a chargeback. Since you got scammed and didn't receive the items you have the full right to do it.

I read reports where people got their money chargebacked even though they made the buyer put this in the notes and send as gift. It should be possible but I never tried it so I can't guarantee it.

    Dear OP:

As a victim of a chargeback myself, I can assure you no matter what "note" you send, even if you sent it as a payment for mercendise or a gift, you will get your money back if you tell paypal it was an unauthroized payment.

    Why? Because of several reasons.
    a. Paypal does NOT cover virtual item payments, (They deem it as "no value")
    b. Paypal loves the "buyer" (you) more than the "seller" (the scammer)
    c. Steam Support does NOT cover money payments, if in the result you get trade banned (which is unlikely), you may contact Steam Support and explain the story to them.
    d. NEVER trade with ANYBODY with paypal transactions who have less than 2 pages of rep, and an account made after November 2011. -Make sure their TF2 playtime is over 300 hours.
    e. The funds will be put on "hold" while the seller and buyer may contact paypal of what happened. When they send you a message, do NOT respond to it. Paypal always returns the money to the buyer if you state in the chargeback notice that it was an unauthorized payment.

    Best of luck OP.

If you lost cash and he didn't send you the goods do a charge back, I can promise anything you put in that little note means nothing to pay pals Terms of service. And anyone who thinks that it is legally binding in any sense is a bloody idiot and trust me Pay Pal will just throw that comment out the window they will not cede authority to a back woods attorney. CHARGE!!!! back. I run an online store selling goods I know this from experience.

And he most likely violated some law by making you sign an agreement that waives your rights to dispute.

Choose Unauthorized Transaction, and don't reply to the dispute, and you will win.

Nobody noticed that OP got the wrong person marked instead of the real scammer? Just look at the URLs in OP's post. What the hell, people?
