The scammer has got 90+ reps and an inventory full of games. Seems like an active account with games, which was why i was fooled to go first in the trade. My fault in not checking his rep here first since i wasn't trading an expensive game but still doesn't justify his action. He offered a giftable (but not tradeable dota), which did exist in his inventory but deleted/blocked me after i traded him my game. (of course i didn't received my game.) I noticed his offense on steamrep was attempted game scam, but since he did scam me so his offense shouldn't be just an attempt but actually scamming, so as to warn the others.

You misunderstood the entry on the SR page. The fact is he is FULLY SCAMMER TAGGED, and if you had botherd to check this, you would not have traded with him.

yep i know its my fault for not checking, just wanted the others to know his full offenses and not be fool by his reps and active account. He might fool others that his only offense stated here was a mistake. But having multiple reports/offenses stating he is a scammer will make sure nobody will believe him. I lost a cheap game so its not so bad, someone else might lose something more.

Sadly people get fooled all the bloody time, usually younger kids.

I cannot stress enough that everyone needs to perform basic checks before trading anything they consider valuable, and if possible use a trusted middle man or your choice (server admin you know well etc).

I applaud you for reporting, it IS IMPORTANT, and people like you who take the time to post here, can and do save others from a similar fate. THANK YOU.
