To save repeating myself , The short of it is that I was a victim of a potential scam whereby some one on my friends list attempted to take advantage of my inexperience with spycrab gambling by using steam chat to distract and con me out of a Bill's hat by leading me to believe 1 set of rules applied to "spycrabbing" whilst posting another set of rules into the server chat window, which I obviously wasn't reading whilst reading steam chat. Once this had failed they then attempted to use blackmail (again in steam chat) to get the Bill's off me by suggesting I'd be perma banned by an admin ( although I'd had no contact from an admin and there was nothing mentioned in rawr server rules about spy crabbing) and then, by reporting me as a scammer (unofficially through steam chat again, to an admin friend) using the server logs as evidence, had me banned from that server, the RAWR community and as a consequence most of the trading world. Fortunately in this case I did not actually lose any items, I did however lose alot more, my reputation as a trader being the biggest loss, and access to many of the biggest and best communities. The fuller explanation of events and circumstances is in my original topic from General Disuccsions link here: http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/maybe-my-last-shot-at-getting-my-scammer-tag-removed.16073/ Original RAWR appeals: initial: http://rawrtradeclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=964 and re-appeal: http://rawrtradeclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1799 I apologise if my posts are difficult to follow and if I've not explained things properly or they seem unclear , I have some learning difficulties and find it difficult to organise my thoughts and writing. I notice in the rules about mentioning long periods of absence; although I have a few short weekend breaks booked at the beginning of January, and with Christmas coming up I will be spending alot of time away from home with visiting family... I also work a 55-60 hour week, and have family at home to look after and spend time with, it may regularly be a few days apart between each of my postings through the week as there are many demands on my time, there may also be rare occasions where it will take me longer than a week to reply depending on how long the whole process takes. As suggested in the rules however, I do have all notifications turned on so I will see as soon as possible when my attention is needed here. I'd be happy to speak to an admin one on one in steam chat, and try to give more explanation, if they determine that is necessary. Thank you all for your time, and to DataStorm for looking past the obvious, and seeing that there may be some merit to this. Mark a.k.a JulieT
Guys, can we have this one removed please? Looks like an unfair tag and I'd like to take this guy on as an admin for the 40 servers I run (UK and US). I don't want to take him on with the [Scammer] tag and the above suggests it's misplaced.
If some one could tell me when I can expect to get a review, or an admins attention for this, that would be helpful. As I'm sure you can imagine this position would be a great opportunity for me, and it would be nice to know the result of this so we can get on. I'm aware that you are busy, and that you volunteer your time, etc etc, but I don't think it's fair that you make myself and others wait so long to have their appeals reviewed, not when the tag has such strong consequences, and when you are unable to help repair the damage to reputation that it causes. Thanks.
