Hello Steamrep staff,
I've just been banned from the TF2WH and I haven't even used it in the past. I checked my steamrep site and noticed that I've been marked as a scammer for posting fake rep. Since I didn't scam people or helped scamming them this has to refer to an "incident" earlier this year. I was looking for a Dota 2 beta invite and was participating in various contests on playdota.com, one of them promised a beta key to some lucky individual who has previously poste "+rep" on a profile. I thought to myself: Why not? If he's legit I might get a key, and if he's lying I'll just delete the comment and move on. Needless to say he didn't deliver anything. I deleted the coment a day later and haven't thought back since.
I hope now you'll see, that the fake rep in question is long gone and I shouldn't be marked as a scammer anymore.

Just for the record do you realize telling a lie to the community, by representing you did an action which you did not do, is a type of "SCAM" still? And thus that makes you a scammer?

I posted the comment on the profile to enter a giveaway, and even if the giveaway turned out to be fake, I could always delete my comment. It was just a comment on a community profile. At the time I posted it the guy just seemed like a user who hosted a giveaway, posting +rep for it on his profile seemed reasonable to me. I was a bit suspicious but knew at all times that I could delete my comment at all times and planned to do so if no beta key was given out, which happened in the end. I now know that some people take profile comments very serious and won't post something like that again if I have any doubts about it. The comment is gone, no harm was done. And you can't really call someone a scammer if he never intended to scam people or at least participate in scamming through someone else. I was merely tricked into writing the comment and did it without realizing that someone might be offended by a comment that stayed up for maybe two days.

it's been a while since I posted this appeal and I just wanted to know if I could provide any information to accelerate the process. I could look for the original thread on playdota, but I'd need the profile link of the scammer or at least the date I made the comment to find the right one in the huge pile of beta key threads over on playdota. I also found these two appeals and think they might refer to the same giveaway on playdota.com, since I posted the comment sometime around january-march and their decription of the thread sounds somewhat familliar to me.
