Description:
I traded with someone and explicity asked if the Borderlands 2 Season Pass he offered was region-locked because I'd heard bad stuff is happening. He said it wasn't locked. Proof in the attached screenshots.

I checked in the trade window and it didn't say anything about a region lock either so I went ahead. Upon trying to add the DLC to my library, Steam tells me it is in fact locked to the RU version of Borderlands 2.

I opened a Steam support ticket about this as well. I'm watching this thread and get email notifications, so shoot me any questions if I forgot something.

You might as well dump a link to disney.com here. Is there some kind of point you're trying to make with the linked thread? You lied to me when I asked you and you knew full well you were lying.

I bought two Season Passes in steam shop and I activate one of them without any problem. You could tell me what's going on instead of reporting me here. You don't have Season Pass now, so don't even have how to fix the mistake.

So if I trade for a Russian season pass, you'll give me back my 22 keys for it?

This is not RU Season Pass, You read topic to which I gave a link? RU should have a tag.
I don't know what we can do in this situation now. How much did you get for this Season Pass? I'll give you the differences.

You giving him more items doesn't "solve" any problem. The deed was still done, regardless.

That's not what I came here to say though - I fail to see how this is a legitimate scam. This could have very easily been a mistake.

It was a really mistake. But I understand, I have to bear the consequences.

Awkward, but I agree. It did all add up in my head, what with the unfriending immediately after the trade was done which I hadn't seen before. But it could have been a mistake, and everything got fixed, and it's terrible to have an unbased accusation floating around, so if possible I'd like to withdraw all this. Sorry about the fuss.

Assuming by the screenshot

1. The victim DID asked explicitly about the region of the item. (asked if the involved item was RU.)
2. The scammer explicitly told otherwise and by this, told a lie that prove a scam attempt (Misrepresentation of the item he wanted to sell) (He told the involved item was Worldwide)

As the scammer returned the item AND overpaid back, it’s mostly looks like he was scared to be tagged by Steamrep or trade banned by VALVe.

Suggestion to the victim

You should leave the Steam Support ticket open, he indeed repaid you, BUT it as by fear, and no pure honesty. He deserve to be trade banned for what he have done. No matter how it’s ended.

I can only see him tagged, all this is obvious, and as he only repaid the item AND overpay, he was apparently mostly scared to be tagged by Steamrep and trade banned by VALVe.



Question to the scammer.

How it can be a mistake. Everything was clear and explicit. I don't understand how a mistake can be done it this, he asked if it was RU, and you said WorldWide. Please let me know how?

Showing us a screenshot of what you activated prove nothing.


Can you show us the transaction screenshot showing you clearly bought the 2 season pass? Be sure to censor any sensitive infos.

That still only shows that you have bought 1 Seasonal Pass and you said that you had bought 2 of them:

Look on the screenshot again. There is one purchased for me and one purchased as a gift.

Oh yeah, sorry, my bad! I had to double check on my own steam acc, I haven't seen that it would stack them up in separate lists earlier (guess that it looks like that after some update).
