Description:
I began trading with a large sum of $300. With this I bought 10 Earbuds. With these 10 Earbuds I began contact with Laugh to purchase a Sunbeams Troublemaker's Tosslecap but due to him not having the hat at the time I bought it from another person. I put this Tosslecap up for trade and quickly received an offer of a HOUWAR and a Vivid Plasma Tosslecap (http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/5287861). As I was new to trading I took this offer, not realising that I inadvertently made a 4 bud profit. I then put the HOUWAR and new Tossle up for sale, but was having trouble selling the Tossle due to impatience. I then asked Laugh, who I knew as a seasoned trader, to help me sell it. He accepted, and I traded the hat to him. After a few days he messages me saying that he 'upgraded it' to a Blizzardy Brown Bomber, which he said was worth 15 buds. He then instructed me to sell the HOUWAR for 5 Max's Severed Head's and to trade him them, and that he would trade back the Bomber, meaning I got my 5 buds profit (according to him). This trade went through. I put up the Bomber for trade, but realised that the price had dropped greatly to 10-11 buds. After a period of approximately a month, I asked him to help me sell that as I had lost my profit due to not being able to sell for 15 buds. For a week he declined but on the last day he said 'yes'. As I trusted him prior to this I have no evidence. After this I went away from home for 10 days. When I returned I hopped onto Steam to ask Laugh if he had sold it, but there was no Laugh in my friends list. I checked his inventory and there was only weapons, due to him cashing out (see profile description). I checked his Outpost Profile and there was no trade. I then checked the item history, and saw that it went to a person named Eclipse (76561198032454327). I added Eclipse, and he said that Laugh quicksold it to him for 6 buds (see screenies). I asked him to talk to Laugh and ask him a few questions. He (Laugh) said (to Eclipse) that I sold the Bomber to him for his Little Buddy (Burning, but not mentioned) and 2 buds. As you can see by my trade history, this is false; I traded it to him for nothing so that he could sell it. I have no proof as to my chats with Laugh as I trusted him for some reason and now he will not accept my friend request so we can talk. Sorry for the block of text but it's the 100% truth of what happened and as I do not have any other screenies it's the only truth I can offer.

Hi there, without any definitive proof of chat that you were giving it to him to sell and not just giving it to him it really is word of mouth. I'm sorry this happened to you and I hope it is a learning experience. When trading any items whether high price or low screen shot all chat just to cover yourself if a situation like this happens. The fact is he lied about the item - if I had just given it to him, why did he say that I sold it to him instead of giving it to him when there is nothing from his behalf in the trade history for that trade?

He may have lied but there is no chat of you telling him to sell it for you. Also he could just say he gave you paypal money or some other item that isn't tradeable. I'm sorry i'm not trying to be harsh but all angles must be looked at and unless there is proof of that chat this case could seem a little weak. However the decision is up to the admins.

The only chats you have is the accused scammer talking with the person who bought the hat you claim to be yours. Sure, you have trade history, but that doesn't really help when there's no evidence supporting your claims. In a situation like this, the trade agreement is very much essential.
