But I can say basically what the chat was. He was telling me that he wanted it because he just loves Spy hats and is collecting Spy hats with unusual effects and really likes the bubbling effects, and thats why he wanted it so badly (I asked him why he wanted it). Basically he was saying he wanted it and was giving me """""so much"""" because he PERSONALLY loved it. -the trade- http://i46.tinypic.com/2hft6i1.png http://i49.tinypic.com/ir7tjc.png http://i48.tinypic.com/xb0awj.png -link to inventory history- http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198065210179/inventoryhistory/ Description: It was my first day ever playing TF2. It was Free 2 Play, but I was planning on getting it either way, but that made it even better so I could buy stuff from the store if I wanted to (at this point I didn't know the economy and you don't buy store items and you trade everything.) So, it was my first day playing and I was playing a few different servers, trying a few different classes .. well actually all of them. I ended up playing for a good few hours and during those hours I had found some items, but mainly I found a crate. I didn't know anything about the crates, I just read what the text said on the crates and went by that. So, I went into the Mann Co. store and I bought a key. I was playing on Fort I believe, the map with the two buildings seperated by water, bridge, and an underground tunnel where you have to capture the intelligence. I opened the crate and I found an Unusual L'Inspecteur . Effect: Bubbling. I saw it had a purple color around it, and I knew hats had some value in this game, but didn't think it was anything amazing, since... well I mean my first time unboxing and I got an Unusual, the first day I played. SO then, after a few minutes I all a sudden got a trade request by someone random... I didn't know who it was. The person wasn't even in my game at the time, he wasn't playing with me because after the first offer I rejected I looked for his name and he wasn't in the game. But what happened was, the trade opened, I just put the hat there because it was pretty much the only thing I had and he put O_O or something. and then he just offered me a hat... just one hat, and it wasn't unusual or anything. I said "No thanks, I'm sure this is worth a lot more than that." . When I said that he was like wait wait wait wait, hold on. What about this?? He was very quick to keep me there and convince me to stay and trade and then he added weapons, more and more and more and more weapons... there was like 70+ at the end and I asked why he is going to give me so many weapons for one hat. He replied said he just loves collection spy hats and loves the bubbling effect. To me, at the time, weapons seemed like a way bigger deal than a hat, because the hat was purely cosmetic and the weapons would actually be of good use to be so I could use them while playing. What i DIDNT know at the time was that all the weapons would drop randomly, and that the hat I had I could EASILY end up selling and get ALL the weapons I wanted/needed. I had no idea about the games economy, trading, items, currency, anything, and he took complete advantage of that and he knew that I didn't know that. He knew it was my first day playing the game, so how would I know this stuff? Anyways, I thought about it and I said... Idk, I'll think about it, I'll add you and message you tommorow if I still want to do it. So I added him and then I went to the Mann Co. store really quick and saw that the L'Inspecteur hat was in the store and it was only like 5$? or something? and all the weapons he offered me were in the store and equalled well over like 200$ or something. (Again, I had no idea about the economy in this game. I had no idea that regular hats are worth a fraction. I had no idea that weapons are worth nothing. I just went by the store prices.) So then I quickly messaged him, thinking maybe it was too late to get that offer again. I said I'll do it.... and I did it . Afterwards, I quickly looked up that hat on a website that says the % of those hats in the game total, and it was VERY LOW, and then it said the % that are unusual of those hats and it was VERYYYYYY LOW. and I was like OOOO_OOOOO. omg, and then i looked around the internet, posted on forums about it. and then I realized I had been scammed and taken complete advantage of. I tried to message the person back, friend request him to message him. but he blocked me so I couldn't message him or add him as a friend or anything. -sigh- . I have regretted this decision ever since.. it would have kick started my whole TF2 investment. I checked recently and he still had the hat too, it's just sitting there mocking me . I am reporting this now because I just found out about this site and I have been wanting to flag this person as a scammer ever since so that he could be blacklisted on major trading websites for what he did to me, taking advantage of new players.
