    Description:
Buyer contacted me (named Dr. G at the time of the trade) and requested to buy 17 keys. I took an admitted risk, as he had no reputation. I used Canadian as a middleman. Thus, the screenshot will show I traded the 17 keys with Canadian. I provide screenshot evidence of the receipt of the funds, which is the PayPal receipt I have attached. I have also attached a screenshot of the email I received from PayPal about the chargeback attempt, as well as the internal case when I login to my PayPal account.

You will notice that he create a SOP rep thread DURING the actual trade. I posted in Dr. G's reputation thread on SourceOp, and he posted in mine.

I am updating this thread, as I have added him. It seems that his PayPal account had been compromised. However, I have requested that he contact PayPal to cancel the chargeback for this transaction.

    Update:
I have called the PayPal Resolution Center with the information given to me. While they cannot disclose the information about his account, they brought up the following points:
    • Yes, the PayPal customer can have a dispute open while not having an active account (or a closed account). This would have to be achieved by filing the dispute, then deactivating the account.
    • The above is a rare occurrence. Even if the individual won the dispute and did get their money back, it would only be refunded to their PayPal account, and PayPal would have no way of getting the funds back to the individual's bank.
I will be uploading all of the logs to PayPal at some point today. However, the information given to me by this player seems not to add up. I hope that he is being honest, but it doesn't make much sense.

The reason I posted the above, is that he asked if there is anything he can do from his end. Basically, if I lose the chargeback (assuming he does not contact them), I will likely be charged a $20 fee. Thus, total loss increases. Since he asked if there is anything that he can do from his end, normally I would say that he could return the 17 keys and we can call it even. However, if I am charged $20 for losing the case, the 17 keys would not suffice.

I contacted PayPal again this morning and uploaded all evidence found here. In addition, I have sent emails to "Dr. G" and with the screenshots included here and asked him to reply back and confirm that the transaction was valid. He has done so. Upon instruction from PayPal, I sent him another email with the needed contact information.

I spoke with Dr. G tonight, and he states that he has been in contact with PayPal about multiple transactions that they have flagged as "suspicious." In my conversation with PayPal, they said that they will flag MULTIPLE transactions at their discretion if an unauthorized transaction has occurred. So far, this validates what Dr. G has told me. He also found out that he was marked, and wasn't very happy about it. The screenshot of our conversation is attached, but long story short: The reason it has taken him so long is because he has been in contact with PayPal multiple times about multiple legitimate transactions they flagged of which 3 are unauthorized.

In the attached conversation, I told him it is not impossible to get the tag removed, but we would have to wait for the resolution from PayPal.

In light of this I am retagging the report as archived instead of accepted.
