Ok, so, I put a trade up on Outpost selling my backpack, 2 weeks ago (10th of July 2013), and I had three people add me asking to buy it in 1 week. I quickly found out that all three of them were impersonating other high ranking traders with lots of reputation, then, two weeks later this person called unalign3d added me. We had a really long conversation about whether I should trust him; we finally came to a conclusion, I trusted him.
So we started discussing the price (AUD$110 PayPal) he would pay for my items (All hats and Stranges; notably, a B.M.O.C., a Black Bill's Hat and some Strange Festives).

I have recorded the whole chat log and have it in both text and screenshot format. When the conversation finally ended and the trade had been made, he removed himself from my friends list, and privated his profile. The text is included below:

Also can you add some screenshot proof as it is vital to your report.

Hi. You seemed to have forgotten to put the screenshots into the thread. Without them the report cannot be accepted. These screenshots need to include: Your inventory history (to show you sent the item over), and a picture of the steam chat showing you agree to the trade. Also you need a picture of your paypal history showing you didn't receive the money (remember to cover up any person info :3). If you have all that then you should be fine. Yes, it was around 1 in the morning when I filed the report, and I was trying to get this up before I went to bed. I did look at that thread though, and I tried my best at that time.

If I could add something to this post which might be of some use!!
This exact same guy used the same tactic on me, but I went to look him up on SteamRep as he started to scare me and talking about pay-pal. I told him the email address I provided was my old incorrect one.
He asked me to put in my most current one and I declined as he was already on probation on SteamRep. But it seems not much else has been done and this guy is still trying to scam people. So I would like to
add a screen shot of what he said to me once I called him out on the scam.

( So If I get a tonne of spam or something reporting me it is incorrect D; )



Now basically the format of his chat followed the same as Meow's post including things such as "Are you sure you agree to this" And many things like that. I tried to take more screen shots but he closed chat.
Also I am feeling quite unsafe now that he has my pay-pal address I was wondering if it is even possible to do anything with my email there? (No passwords were given to him)
My steam email was not given either.

Only half an hour after posting this this guy's probation is removed????

Each report counts as an offense: making it harder for the scammer to appeal. If this user tried to scam you too, please create your own report.

I would but I hardly have enough information to provide to SteamRep and the trade never went through so it seems pointless.
