Backing out on trade offer after accepting it on outpost.

This morning, I made an offer: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8278078 It was a high offer, but he accepted it and told me to get the game ASAP. I bought the game and tried to trade with him. Steam was acting up, and refused to trade. He then signed off and told me he would follow through with the trade later that day. I told him that I was not going to be online until later on that day anyway. When I signed on, he removed me. I added him back until he blocked me on steam. On outpost, I told him that he needed to follow through with his trade since he accepted my offer on outpost. I reported him to outpost, and the listing has been closed

However, that's not why I'm posting. I have some experience with trading steam games so here's some advice for you. If you ever decide to buy a game on steam for trading purposes, don't but it right away. Instead, you should wait until you both are talking to each other on chat. Make sure you ask him if he still wants the game, and give him a link to the game's store page and have him confirm that, that is in fact the game he wants. After all of that, then you can go ahead and buy the game.

I did. He added me on steam, We agreed on a bud and 3 keys, I bought the game, and then after we tried trading, he ditched.

Reread your OP and realized I derped hard. Yea, disregard whatever I said. Again though, I'm not sure SteamRep can mark for this. But stay tuned, the SteamRep staff might mark him if they think what he did was heinous enough. =/

I doubt it, basic contract law, there is no consideration, merely an agreement.
