Description:
He messaged me on steam after adding me as friend, showed interest in Deus EX Augmented and we agreed on a trade.
I was stupid, I did not get his steamtrades profile and I gave keys first. Here is the trading window log before he took off and removed me as a friend.
He then said the first key worked ( i did not copy after this and the window closed when he ran) and dissapeared, then removed me as a friend.
He said a friend gave him my profile but I now realize that was a lie, he got it on steamtrades on my post.

p.s. I did already put a steam support ticket in but do not expect that to result in anything.

I know I made some mistakes in this trade but I still appreciate ANY help in nailing this guy so this does not happen to other people.

I forgot to mention (and do not see an edit button) that the in Trade log was the last copy I had made before it closed (I sensed something might not be right so I copied it a couple times as we talked), there was like three more lines.... I said "hello?", he said "the firs one worked" then he somehow made my trade window close with an error and then unfriended me and i think blocked me too without sending me a single thing.

One other thing, I can if needed provide a screenshot or any other required proof that I purchased the cd keys listed in the trade log.

He changed names and custom url.

Sorry for all the posts but I cannot edit the other ones.

I notice now that he now is being shown as a scammer when he was not earlier today so it just happened.

I would guess its a taken over account or a good guy gone to the dark side.

Can you screenshot your game licenses? And did you screenshot the trade window, or no?

I never had a chance to screenshot the trade window but luckily had copied some of it. For some reason steam sets up the trade window where it automatically closes if the other end closes.

As far as the licenses, yes I can prove them as I bought them myself through amazon, would you just need a pic of the amazon 'My games library' page with serial numbers showing?

Finally, is there any point to this?? There is current scams in progress, this user was marked a scammer literally later the day I was scammed and so is already shows as a spammer and this happened almost a whole month ago.

These keys are activated through Steam, right? I'd need a screenshot of your steam game licenses to prove that he didn't give you the code. If he did, it would be activated on your account.

And the more offenses on a scammer, the harder it is for them to appeal.

In my above post, 'spammer' means 'scammer'.

I hate the 2 minute edit limit. Two minutes is barely enough time to re-read a post and properly edit it and what if someone else is in the room and happens to be talking to you and grabs your attention for a moment? I would love to see that raised to a more reasonable 5-10 minutes.

Hmm. We just need to verify that you didn't receive a key/working key. This is difficult without any screenshot of the trade window.

Ya maybe I screwed up there by copying text while in progress and not screenshots or video.

I learned a lot that day about being more careful with my trades. I have no intention letting it happen again.

I get that I don't have enough proof to show he ripped me off but in a trade like this where the trade window is used and the other party can force it to close somehow, I don't see what i could have done to prove he closed it after blocking me without having been taking a video.

It looks like there is another pending report on the guy tho so he will still get another mark if that one goes through.

Whenever I do any sketchy trades or talk to anyone shady, I always screenshot everything and save it. It's a good habit. Sorry that we can't do anything, but we can't risk tagging people without proper evidence.
