BrilliantBill was a lower level admin on a set of achievement servers. I am currently a top level admin with said servers. The other day Marine approached me and told me Bill had scammed him out of an unusual. Marine told me Bill had said his Bubbles Fedora was worth more than Marine's Blizzardy Merryweather. He then made Marine add 2 more hats (a green painted uncraftable Ushanka and an Apparition's Aspect) to the trade to make it "even." After the trade Marine claimed that Bill then rubbed the scam in his face by telling him that the Merryweather was worth 2.5 buds and the Fedora was only worth 1.5. I went to tf2items.com and found all of the items Marine said he had given in the trade to Bill had been traded within days of the initial trade.

I have Steam chat logs of Bill admitting to the scam. There was also another admin of higher rank than Bill present in the chat at the time that will confirm that this took place. I'll put his info below along with the logs.

Bill never denies the claims I said Marine made against him in this chat. He also refused to give the difference between the 2 unusuals and instead decided to take a permanent ban from our servers along with the removal of his admin.

He also insisted on insulting me on his steam page for banning him after he admitted to this. There's a screencap below.

This is silly. He traded a low tier hat for another low tier hat. You have a chatlog copy paste of him telling you to pound salt because what you were saying was ridiculous. Both hats are low tier and the difference of a bud is purely subjection. I find it rather disturbing you defend a friend who you both agreed sharked a team captain.


I don't blame him, I would have asked for the ban too. You guys obviously don't know what you're talking about.

First, my friend did not "shark" a team captain. The owner of the team captain insisted on a certain value for his item. When asked by the owner, my friend even added more to the deal. He gave the owner exactly what he insisted on getting.

Second, Misrepresentation of an item's value and lowballing are two different things. No one who lowballs intentionally claims that their item has more value then the one they are trying to get.

You obviously have misinterpreted what steamrep is for, or just simply dont care and posted anyway as there are multiple posts discussing the tagging of sharks. You're trying to describe a sharking incident while having your friends back for stealing ~14 or so buds worth of hat for a few keys. The trade mentioned has a maximum possible difference of .5 buds. Are you REALLY coming here to say youve always traded 100% laterally in the game and never made out greater in the end of a trade? What part of the USSR are you from?

This is not a scam, so I am marking this report as invalid and archiving it. Regardless, thank you for the report.
