Description:
I was selling my Essential Accessories on TF2 Outpost. While I was playing tf2, someone messaged me on Steam (The middleman, Dragonborn Neo). I opened the message box and saw the text, 'A friend of mine would like to purchase your EA'. I checked Outpost and nobody had messaged my trade. 'So why didn't your friend contact me then?' I asked. 'I'll invite him to group chat, then we'll tell you.' So middleman invited N_g0 SkuLL (IICCII)™ (The scammer) to group chat with the middleman and I. The scammer proposed his deal. 'I'll buy all your hats, including your Accesories and your strange Sniper Rifle for $50.' I didn't know how I would get the $50, because I didn't have a Steam Wallet account. 'How, if I don't have Paypal?' I asked, excited about getting $50 on steam. I could buy heaps of keys! The middleman said, 'I'm here to help out because I know how to transact the $50 to your account.' It seemed like too good a deal, because all my hats together weren't worth $50 USD. I was a bit suspicious, so I asked, 'All my hats together aren't worth $50.' The scammer explained, 'I'm paying you extra because you're giving me the items first. I'll pay you afterwards.' Having never been scammed before, except a minor one when I was a rookie (I payed a ref for a Chargin'Targe), I happily put all my hats (Accumulating to about 10 keys worth) , and my strange Sniper Rifle into the trade box and clicked the conclusive blue bar. The scammer readied as well and we completed the trade. The middleman then said, 'You'll need to restart your PC to the transaction to work.' So I restarted my computer, and when I'd gotten back onto steam, my Wallet was still empty, and the middleman had switched offline. I messaged the scammer, and then said, 'hi'. I got a 'hey' back, then the scammer went offline as well. I started feeling a bit regretful, but I though they were just gonna take a while to do the transaction. I tried to add them or message them, but I kept getting an error that had never happened to me or didn't happen to any of my friends when I tried it. It turns out they had blocked me. I saw another guy was called DRAGONBORN NEO I WILL FIND YOU. I wondered why he called himself that and added him. A few days later, we talked and he said he got scammed by the middle man, and then the middleman had blocked him so he couldn't message him. He told me that that had happened to me too, except there was a friend involved. I had gotten scammed. I'm sorry about the long description, but I don't have any pictures of chat because I was completely oblivious that they were scammers.
That is my story. I hope it gets a better ending

here's my trade proof. Those are all my hats I traded.

That would work, an SR admin will investigate this in a while!

Because the trade history was so closely cropped (we need inventory history for the FULL DAY of the scam) and because there is a lack of evidence, I could only caution the person with whom you traded and did not mark the other person at all. Thank you for the report.
