The reason I received my tag, was that in the past I had "fake repped" this person named Iceman after doing a trade with him without truly knowing it was a crime and that he would abuse my rep I had gave him. The reason I should get untagged, is because after having a good trade between Iceman and I, he had asked if I could +rep him in a way that he wanted it to be. At the time I was relatively new to trading and did not realize this would later affect me so I agreed. I didn't know at that time in the past that fake-repping was such a crime and I never knew someone could abuse a "fake rep" like that. It was a rookie mistake and I am sorry for what I have done, I was just trying to help someone out and this apparently was the wrong guy. Also, as said here http://forums.steamrep.com/pages/faq/, it says: New traders: New traders who are unaware of SteamRep will not receive penalties to their reputations, but will receive a one-time warning. I was never given such a warning and I was unaware of steamrep at the time. It took me awhile to make a ban appeal since I originally wanted to try trading with the tag, as many people said it would be to difficult to get rid of. I want to get into some higher end trading but the risk of others buying/trading would be to high since I have a tag. I thought it would be about time to try and get it removed.

You have taken that section out of context, it has no relevance to your case as it pertains to penalties regarding trading or buying from known scammers, not fake rep.

Oh yes, thanks for the response. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought that was a general rule to all traders.

Please post screenshots of your trade history on the 1 April - 3 April (the dates which you had lodged the rep) on the persons steam profile. Please provide any screenshots of trades which have conducted with this person in that time period.

Your rep suggests that this transaction had occurred, that "he is trustful and he will not scam you ever". Even if you did not know of steamrep, someone with common sense knows that this is plain deception by posting it up. You are inducing trust from a fake transaction. Regardless please provide the the screenshots.

The snapshot above is of the trade history of when he had first added me for a trade of his p.fetti gatsby for my salvaged crate 30. I didnt want to do the trade unless his gatsby was clean but it wouldnt let me check his gatsby's history since his backpack was private at the time and it just wasn't loading. So he had offered that we could do the trade so I could check the gatsby's history in my backpack. It ended up being duped and he had then retraded like he had said we could.

The snapshot below is of the trade history of when he had later sold his p.fetti gatsby and had came back with an offer of pure keys in which I had accepted.

Though appellant did lodge fake rep, I believe Iceman was the main offender in the report. The transaction never did occur. However, seeing as this is the only instance of fake rep and there have been no outstanding reports on this individual I am inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt and downgrade the tag to CAUTION which can be cleared after the conditional period. He seemed genuinely remorseful and uninformed of the seriousness of fake rep. He has been informed now.
