A few days ago, I found out from a good friend of mine that I was being impersonated. Several people have been scammed of unusuals and keys by whoever was impersonating me and using my SOP thread to do so. Scammer reports were made, and I got listed as the scammer instead of this other guy. There is no real evidence in these threads against the real ME. For example, if you look at the trade histories and screenshots (links listed below), there is NOTHING there that links the real me to the scammed person. Anyone can change their steam name and chat using my steam name, anyone can add the real me on steam, and honestly, anyone can change their profile picture to the one I had. I did my part on my SOP rep thread to alert people that I was being impersonated, and if you actually read through my rep thread, some of the last posts are regarding the scammer incidents. Someone listed the steamID64 of the real scammer (http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198044309030), and that is not me. This person's been banned for impersonating a bunch of traders. I don't mean to be disrespectful of the people who did get scammed by this impersonator, but do you really think they actually looked up the steamID64 and the custom URLs for their steam report, or did they use MY rep thread that the impersonator gave them as their own? I apologize that I did not find out I was being impersonated earlier, but I didn't scam anyone.

    Hello,
I was wondering when this can be looked at. I realize that SteamRep admins are super busy handling other appeals, but I noticed that the status of the 2nd report above was changed from "approved" to "need more info" the day I submitted this appeal. There's still no real evidence against me as both reports now have "need more info" statuses, and I don't see why I should still be marked as a scammer if neither of the reports were approved. If at a later point, either of the two people who submitted the reports come up with evidence incriminating the real me, then it will be reasonable to officially mark me as a scammer, though I'm absolutely positive they won't come up with anything against me. Please consider my request.
    Sincerely,
    Taco

    Hi Taco,

I've seen the list of reports, it appears that it is clearly the work of your impersonator and not you who scammed those victims.
Please be patient as the SteamRep admins currently have their hands full with other appeals. Meanwhile, I will contact a SR admin to get this matter cleared up as soon as possible.

    Rgds,
    Zion

(The victim claims he traded the keys to the scammer)

However, the victim was also unable to provide screenshots of the inventory trade history

(There were no signs or evidence of scammed keys or scammed unusual batter's helm in the backpack on historical trade dates on 11th of April and 29th of April which are the only two trades done during that month )

I sincerely apologize for the wait. Your tag has been removed as further research as shown that the scams attributed to you were actually done by your impersonator, 76561198044309030. I normally do not handle appeals but since I made the mistake in tagging you initially, I feel obligated to own my error. Again, I apologize for the mistake and I have been very careful in checking all profiles to help prevent this from happening again. I wish you the best of luck and again I am terribly sorry. :(
