I think the images speak for themselves, the guy attempted to scam my unusual which is worth 3 buds more than his aka around $100 more in value, his attempt to make out that it was the same value obviously failed and of course I didn't accept the trade.

Out of interest, if I would of gone through with the trade and basically traded my noble for his hat, would the steamrep wcommunity look into the case then?

Probably not, because that still falls under "sharking" rather than "scamming".
Each individual has his own interpretation about prices and how much an item is worth, and although I am not disagreeing with you on the fact this is an obvious attempt to gain huge profit in one trade, it can not be looked at as scamming.

Unfortunately this seems to be a shark report, Steamrep doesn't directly ban on these kind of reports but they're appreciated. However I'll have to archive your report due to this.

I invite you, to report this kind of event into outpost and/or other trade servers such as Mann Co trading and Ace Fortress, who handle them.
