Well, here is the story. I was marked on Steam rep for a "Tux scam." (See thread above.) I was trading on outpost when I found Ollie, the person who marked me. We traded a few items and I forgot to delete him off my friends list. We messaged a little bit for a few days, and I considered him somewhat of a friend. Elite had been on my friends list for a while, and we talked some so I trusted him. He took my account as I watched from an alt, and logged in using Linux to get my Tux. I gave him a hat is return. He had an idea and started to make a business out of this. Of course, it was illegal, and that is why he only did it with people on his friends list they could both trust. He did some on my list too, that were my friends. I asked Ollie if he had the tux, and told him that my "friend" Elitekiller was doing a business getting them for people. Now remember, this is illegal to do on random servers and such, it is considered account hacking. That is why we had a "circle of trust", none of us wanted to scam each other. I guess it was a stupid idea to put Ollie in this circle. Now, Ollie was not on Elite's list, only mine. I told him about Ollie and how he was gullible, so Elite added Ollie to get him the tux. They traded, and Elite was screwing around and tried to see if he would fall for 2 buds for it (In the picture on the link above) Ollie got mad, not understanding that we were messing with him. Then he called me a scammer, and blocked me from his list.

Now, Elitekiller said he does not care about being marked as a scammer, but I do. Outpost and trading are my life, and I would hate for it to be ruined by a little incident like this.

Truth or not, aiding a scammer is a serious offense and even if the two of you were "messing with him," he looked ready to take the 2 buds in the trade. Either way, you would need to provide proof of some sort to show that you are innocent in some way. A large block of text conveying a message of "we were only joking" is not, has never been, and will never be, a viable defense. You can, of course, upload proof to try to show your innocence, but you have already admitted to the offense here.

I have admitted to the offense, because neither of us are scammers. I would not have admitted to the offense if he was a scammer, would I? Like you said, I cannot prove my innocence, I can only prove that Elite is innocent since I had no part in the actual trade. How? I have no idea, but I will try. Thank you for your help
