This afternoon at approximately 14:30GMT I found a trade request on TF2 Outpost which I answered as a friend request in Steam.
Scammer accepted request and enquired as to nature of contact.
He was asking .66rec for a Pyro Triclops hat which I offered as 1 Ref and asked if he would give back 1 Rec change which he said was no problem and posted the metal. I then posted my 1 Ref and gift wrap for him to wrap and send back my hat.
A couple of minutes went by and he the said "2 secs, I can't connect my backpack is offline"...
I said ok I will wait. He then went in game to TF2 where he stayed for around 5 minutes before I again enquired if he was sending my hat back to me.
Scammer closed the trading session and the friend status had disappeared from my list. When I tried to re-add as friend it was denied (he had blocked me).
Around 18:10GMT I re contacted Scammer via my son's Steam account asking if he had a Triclops for sale.
He said yes and I then informed him I was the person who had paid for it earlier, along with a verbal account of the failed trade that had taken place earlier including details of the metal exchanged (which only I and he would have known) to prove my authenticity. I then suggested that he should send me the goods I had paid for immediately.
This chat widow was again closed by the scammer and the friend staus deleted and could not be re-added (blocked again).

Yes I can do that tomorrow. I have a message being relayed to the person as we speak. If I do not get a satisfactory replay I will do this. Many thanks.

Here is the last part of the conversation that agreed the trade.
Last night I contacted a member of the clan the scammer plays with and as the scammer wouldn't talk to me directly or add me on Steam to talk, the guy relayed the messages for me, which was decent of him considering it was nothing to do with him.
Will upload those images later (which carry an admission by proxy).

Here is a conversation held later the following day with a member of his clan acting as messenger with the scammer. The conversation speaks for itself.
He has at this present time got the item (and another) listed for 1 scrap (you provide wrap). This is clearly just to goad me, as the item is worth considerably more and obviously has no intention of selling it for what he has it listed. So that's a false listing in the outpost as well.
