I am a moderator of the TF2Hats servers. I already kicked this kid for micspamming once. I come back on the server and he is impersonating Ty (A frequent member of the server). Ty asks him to change it back and he changes his name to Ty is a f✿✿✿✿✿. I step in and tell him to stop and he changes his name to something along the lines of "Ty and tom are f✿✿s". It started as impersonation of just Ty (probably for self gain as Ty is well respected on these servers) and it turned into down right insulting. Ty is going to reply to this with screenshots.

I was afk when the name change tool place, when i came back and noticed it i asked him to change his name and he replied "_- ŦŶ -_ : Why i can have my steam name how i want it" Chat logs in pastebin.

I was there the entire time. Bacon was already kicked several times for lack of respect and plain old stupidity. Then after both Ty and Tom went afk, he decides to change his name to be spiteful, disrespectful and overall a complete imbecile. TF2hats runs respected servers, we can't have respect with people such as Bacon coming and disrupting the peace and well-being.

Honestly, from what I see, this individual is being a nuisance in your server and you are within your rights to ban him. However he didn't really do anything to warrant a SR mark, with the exception of change his name.

But it would appear he did that to troll and to annoy you and not to scam. Seeing as he did it right in front of you and when asked to change, he did indeed change.

All in all, SteamRep marks scammers and those who attempt to scam. Individuals that cause annoyance with mic spam and trolling, while irritating, don't count as scammers.

He DID copy the name of the person (even if it was only for 15 mins) so don't just jump the gun here TOO fast.

I realize but it's been stated that you don't own a name. To be marked as an impersonator you must be actively trying to scam someone while pretending to be that person. Avatar, bio, name etc.

Based on those logs and on the screens, it looks like he changed it to get on their nerves and only changed his name. I understand your point regarding it, but based on what I see, it would appear it was just simply trolling. And without evidence of him attempting to scam and copying the profile exactly, I don't think would give a SR tag.

Well actually I do recall him talking about selling or buying something, I can't remember what exactly so I can't justify it was a scam. But from what fuzzy memories I can pull, I think is was about 4 ref or 4 keys, something with four he was paying for I forget what. I'll focus on remembering it and get back to you with further details if needed.

You would need to provide evidence that he attempted to scam. If he simply changed his name and sold a key for 2.55 (for example) it wouldn't be a scam.

Scooty and Eoj are right. I'll leave the thread open to provide evidence that a scam attempt actually took place, but as of right now there isnt quite enough to warrant a mark.
