I just recently got back into trading after my predicament, which you may view on my SteamRep page.

I was offered $70 for a Smoking Chieftain's by "Travis" (STEAM_0:1:52089067). I wanted to find a middleman due to his lack of rep, and he wouldn't go first. As we were both looking for a reputable middleman, he found one and would only go with this guy ("rish" - STEAM_0:0:40544048). I looked on his page, which had good rep, and his SteamRep was clean. I went ahead and traded him the Chieftain. Afterwards, Travis left the chat and I told rish that I hadn't received the money. He said "Sorry, I already traded him the item," and he left the chat. After they both left chat, the window closed so I, unfortunately, am not able to show the chat.

Travis now cleaned out his backpack (http://www.tf2items.com/profiles/76561198064443863).
You may see in my backpack this morning (7/5/12) that it is on the 5th page. (http://www.tf2items.com/id/j0sh77?time=1341448198)

Currently, the item is not shown as traded or deleted, but I'm sure it will appear in a day or two.

Has been trade banned by Valve. After that, he hasn't been online for quite some time.

This happened on July 5th, which you can see in my trade history I traded it to "rish," and the transaction history from paypal was spanned over the week. I have been trying to get back into trading and was going to sell my hat for profit, but as you can see, I did not receive any money between those dates.

Without the chat, there's not enough evidence. Sorry.
