Hello everyone,
Basically last night, I had posted in the Steam community group, the "Traders Guild", that I had a spare product key of Crysis 2 for Origin, and I was interested in trading. There wasn't much demand for this game, but I eventually got a friend request from the user "have x10 keys Crysis 3 alpha". He said he wanted to trade for my key. I said "Okay, what are you offering?". He offered me the game Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and I agreed to the deal, as shown in the above chat window. I sent him the key, and he then stopped replying to my messages. He later came online and told me the key had already been used. I told him that this was false, because I had never used the key before. I then told him that I was contacting EA Support to see who and when had activated my key. He immediately unfriended me and blocked me. I logged into another Steam account and added him again. I told him I had contacted EA Support and they told me the key had been activated by a user less than 10 minutes ago (which they did, via EA'S Suppport Chat) and again, he immediately unfriended me and blocked me again. Unfortunately, I do not have any other screenshots apart from the trading window of him offering Black Ops 2, and the chat window of him agreeing to the deal. I know it's a long shot, but would I be able to recieve any compensation for this? I am sadly disappointed I have lost my game. I am posting this warning so other users are aware of this scammer.

Nope, not via SteamRep, all we can do here is tag for scamming. Even tho you could maybe be able to get the game revoked from the user and/or his Origin account locked for some time but that all depends on the EA-support and their policies.
Also, would you perhaps have screenshots of the chat/e-mails with the EA support?

Also tried to trade you Crysis 3 Alpha key?

I was in the alpha and it's already ended weeks ago. I dunno if the scammer had intend to trade them too but they aren't valid anymore.


OP, would you post a screenshot of your inventory history between the time of this even so we could be sure you didn't received the game he was offering for.
