    Application:

Please tell us about yourself (job, school, hobbies, etc)
Hi, I'm Blizzard and I'm a third-year college student studying Finance and Accounting. I really enjoy keeping myself busy throughout the day through my involvement in volunteer work online as well as my involvement in various clubs at my university. Currently, at my school, I serve on the exec board for both the Accounting Society as well as the Outdoors Club. On top of that, I also volunteer as a school ambassador and I am in two different fraternities. I'm also an Eagle Scout and I really enjoy going backpacking in the outdoors. Some of my favorite games to play include CS:GO, RuneScape 3, and a little bit of TF2. Esports wise I'm a huge fan of Team Liquid and I follow them throughout all their tournaments.

One of my biggest hobbies over the past couple of years has been dedicated to assisting victims of scams who reach out to me through DMs on Twitter, Discord, and Steam on how to properly file scam reports to various different services. One of the biggest questions I always get from time to time is how I manage to balance all the workload that I take on. The simple answer to this is that it makes it a lot easier since I'm extremely passionate about my work/hobbies and I manage my time wisely by scheduling out my day. I also stay on top of my work by constantly working ahead.

Why do you want to be a SteamRep moderator, and what makes you feel you're a good candidate?
The main reason why I want to be a SteamRep moderator is that I want to give back to the trading community that has given me so much over the past several years. I've always believed strongly that I needed to do more to help those who have been the victim of a scam and I believe SteamRep is the next stepping stone for me to help others. SteamRep has always in my eyes been the pinnacle/gold standard when it comes to having comprehensive standards/procedures as well as having the most extensive scammer database for Steam. I've always looked up to and admired the SteamRep staff for their relentless work in processing reports and appeals that are constantly coming in every day. If given the opportunity to join the staff, I look forward to learning from the admins.

I believe that I am a good candidate for the position of mod because of my extensive experience and history of dealing with scams from an administrative perspective. Unlike most users in the trading community, I didn't join back in 2016 because I was looking to make a profit. All I've ever cared about is the community itself and being a resource to others that people feel comfortable coming to when they need help. I really enjoy working with others and I always do my best to uphold rules.

    Past administrative experience:
For over a year (2019-2020), I worked as Staff for one of the biggest CS:GO trading Discords (19k members) known as Trademart (https://trademart.gg/). My main responsibilities were moderating chat as well as handling report tickets regarding scammers, needing help, etc. Eventually I retired from the staff team as there were talks of them starting their own in-game trade server which would have been a conflict of interest for me.

I also volunteered for several months (2020-2021) as a support staff member for the Ticket Tool Support server (https://tickettool.xyz/) where I was responsible for resolving bot related issues for users in tickets. The bot is the biggest ticket bot on Discord (In over 1 million servers) and is primarily used for reports in servers. In the beginning of 2021, I retired from staff.

I was also a support staff member and later promoted to moderator for Droplet Development's Support server, where I was challenged to resolve bot-related issues for the Reaction Roles bot (in over 640k servers) and ensure that the rules were followed accordingly. Towards the end of 2020, I retired from staff.

List Steam trading communities you are / have been active on and in what capacity (user, mod, admin)
    • CSGO-Rep: Since the opening of CSGO-Rep in beginning of 2021, I have been fortunate to be apart of the staff team. My primary responsibilities include responding back to report/appeal emails, reaching out to users personally to verify their reps, correcting false info provided in reps, and banning scammers.
    • Rise Trading: In 2018, I joined my first administrative position as an admin for Rise Trading (In-game CS:GO trading server). I quickly was promoted to Head-Admin and later on Server Manager due to my activity and spearheading multiple initiatives that would benefit the server. One of the biggest initiatives I took charge of was organizing and planning a whole new map made from scratch that provided new innovations. In 2020, I took a brief break from the staff team due to irl issues, but later returned. My primary responsibilities include managing the Discord, Twitter, Website, Steam group, and in-game server. I'm also in charge of hiring and training new staff as well as banning scammers and repeated rulebreakers.
    • DiscordRep: In 2020, I joined the staff team as a Moderator where I was tasked with handling reports and banning scammers. Soon after I was promoted to Admin and Report Manager and given the task of overhauling our staff procedures and how we handle reports. I also took over the responsibility of training all new incoming staff. The past several months we have been focusing on preparing the database for DiscordRep v5 release through using a semi-automated system to review/sort past bans and remove all outdated bans that either no longer fall under our jurisdiction or are missing evidence.
    • Sharkbay: In spring of 2021, I joined the staff team of Sharkbay which is a high-tier trading server owned by OhnePixel that uses a special invite system to gain access. My main responsibility in the Discord is resolving report tickets and banning scammers.
    • Trading Server Staff Discord: In 2020, I opened up a private Discord server upon the request of multiple trading communities asking for a place where staff from different trading communities could reside and pass along evidence on scammers to other communities. As of today we have full staff teams from 9 different CS:GO related trading servers that cooperate with each other on passing along scammer evidence.
    • ServerStats: While this isn't a trading community I thought it'd be worth mentioning since it is staff related experience. Since 2020, I've served on the staff team as a Helper for the ServerStats Discord. My main responsibility is answering questions of how to setup the bot and fix issues with it. (Bot is in over 2 million+ servers)
    • $4k (Admin), $2k, $3k, $8k (Mod) Collectors Steam groups: My primary responsibility is approving/denying requests to join the group based on their Steam inventory value and having a clean rep. We also constantly comb the groups for scammers and kick them out as they try to utilize the groups as a way of claiming that they have "rep" because they are in them.

Have you ever been banned from another community? If so, what happened?
I have been banned by three communities and overall while I strive to be the best version of myself every day, I do make mistakes from time to time as I am not perfect. I have taken each ban below as a learning experience to grow from my mistakes.

    - r/GlobalOffensiveTrade (Pending Appeal): 3 years ago I was banned from posting to the GoTrade subreddit for alting. I used an alt account because I deleted my old reddit account and had no other way to access the reddit other than through using my alt. I was rightfully banned in this case as I disobeyed the rules. I do want to clarify that I never alted for malicious purposes. I highly recommend you read through the whole ban appeal that I linked below to get full context of the circumstance of the ban.
    (Link to ban appeal: https://forums.rugcflair.com/index....mcommunity-com-profiles-76561198867494848.17/)

    - The Global Paradise (TGP) (Pending Appeal): At the beginning of 2022, I was banned by T-Virus from his in-game trading server for being "in the middle of drama" because I liked a tweet from one of his former staff members and weighing in with my personal opinion on a tweet from one of my colleagues in which I said that the situation is a tad concerning. The tweet was in regards to one of my colleagues getting banned from TGP for assisting a victim with gathering evidence which the staff team of TGP had given him approval to do so before.
    (Link to ban appeal: https://forums.theglobalparadise.com/threads/blizzards-ban-appeal.1348/)

    - Droplet Development (Appeal Accepted): In early 2021, months after stepping down and retiring from the staff team of Droplet, I was banned from the Discord. My ban reason was "Spreading misinformation/Association with slanderous individuals." This ban was appealed/removed and the owner of Droplet (ERIK) has declared me innocent as I had no involvement other in the situation other than being banned by association.

    Other questions or comments:
Thank you for taking my application into consideration and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Feel free to let me know if you have any particular questions or concerns and I'll be sure to respond to them in a timely manner.

Thank you, I appreciate it a lot. I've been trying to get in contact with Knightmare, the GoTrade admin that handles all the appeals on the new forums to get this resolved, but he has been offline for the past week. I'm unsure how often they really even check the new forums since there isn't much activity there. I might try and get in contact with another GOTrade admin to see if I can get my appeal reviewed sooner than later since mine is 1 of 2 appeals that is open currently.

Just a quick update. The ban appeal for The Global Paradise (TGP) was accepted and I was unbanned. Still waiting on response though from r/GlobalOffensiveTrade.

    Hi @_Blizzard_
After reviewing your application we have decided to decline your application at this time. There were a few concerns raised while reviewing your application, among which was the concern that you are already involved in many things, which would make the time commitment mentioned in your application extremely difficult. We want to avoid applicants using a position at SR for a, as you put it, a stepping stone.

    Regardless, thank you for applying.
