Scammer: steamID: BurningSoap steamID32: STEAM_0:1:42254842 steamID64: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198044775413 customURL: http://steamcommunity.com/id/BurningSoap/ steamrepURL: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198044775413 So this guy, I know him in real life, and I thought I could trust him. Well, when I first got out of being Free to Play in December, I unboxed a naughty winter crate, I got a strange festive sticky launcher. I told him about it, and he invited me to trade. He put up a strange Axetinguisher and said that it was a very rare strange weapon worth alot more(I had never seen it before, and I knew him, so I believed him) After the trade he waited a while and told me he scammed me. I was very mad at this, so I didn't trade with him for a long time, this being around 7 months. Around 7-15-12 he told me he needed a strange degreaser for his higlander match to count his kills in a single match, what didn't occur to me is that he could just write down the current kills. He offered me a dirty hat painted gold, I declined then said "I want 9 keys or no deal" (Because I had been scammed out of the strange festive sticky launcher) He offered a strange rocket launcher (at the time I didn't know the new crates ruined the value) So I thought "hey I'll get a good deal out of this" Then he said "and when I'm done sunday, you can have the degreaser back." We then traded and I was pretty happy. Sunday was here it was around 9 p.m. I asked him if his match was over, he then said "Yeaaaaaa, about that... I scammed you, haha, the new crates are ruining the value of strange RL's" I was pretty angry at him, now he had scammed me out of a total of around 10.5 keys. By this time, I was "enraged" and I deleted him, spammed his account with "scammer", reported him, and finally blocked him. Now, I do want to say, the degreaser thing might not be a big deal, but I bought the naughty winter crate key with MY Money, Emphasis on MY. I had unboxed MY own strange festive sticky launcher, which is worth alot. So I would appreciate doing whatever you do to mark him as a scammer, again, this would be greatly appreciated, I do not have any photos of him doing any of this stuff, but I do have a picture of him selling my Strange Degreaser on TF2 Outpost. Here it is. Also, he has never had enough to buy an unusual, he does NOT use paypal to avoid scams.
I am extremely sorry if I have posted this incorrectly. This is my first time reporting a scammer, and my only time being scammed.
Also, this person bragged about getting an unusual for 4 regular weapons, again I have no evidence though :/
Hey. If i am correct, he sharked you, and steamrep doesn't mark for sharking. I know that this is sad, because i was sharked before too.
Well, its sad Valve doesn't do a thing about real life money, and I do believe this was a scam, not sharking, if me and you have the same definitions.
Well, he gave you shitty strange weapon for a high valuable item and thats called sharking. It was a scam if he said hey i will give you a epic strange wep, but give me your wep first, you give him the wep and he blocks you or etc.
Allways include your own SR information as well as it is part of the proper format; steamID: Max steamID32: STEAM_0:1:30303700 steamID64: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198020873129 customURL: steamrepURL: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198020873129 As mentioned, this is a case of sharking and i reccomend using the Spreadsheet to get a pricing on your items in the future (Sometimes it wont be as accurate but its better then the prices you will find on Outpost as people are only "quickbuying" aka "Buying for less then 70 % of its original value") Best of luck with this report.
Thanks, I didn't know to do that. And back then, I didn't know what spreadsheet was, But I thought the rocket launcher was still at a good price. :/
Unfortunately, this is considered sharking, as he managed to squeeze a good deal out of you simply because you didn't know the actual price. SteamRep doesn't mark players for sharking, so let's just hope you learned your lesson!
This IS a shark. Making an item seem rarer to trade for a real rarer item, is a shark. Its a bad thing to do, but sadly it cant get a tag.
