    Appeal for BANNED BY SR

    Steam profile: 76561198122005972 (Eriksson)

Appeal Plea: I commited the offense(s), but it was minor or I disagree with SteamRep policy
Appeal Reason: [Change of Heart] I will never scam again.
Victim Repayment: No, but I will repay. I need help finding the victim(s)
Previous Appeals: Yes, I appealed here earlier for another situation in the past.

    Appeal description:
It's been over 2,5 years since this happend, in all this time this is the only time I broke the rules.

    Dear Admins/visitors of this appeal.

I am here to appeal my SCAMMER tag I received from steamrep. My appeal is well argumented and has all the information needed (If I still missed something somehow, just respond below)

    Quick note:
    - I will only post information/arguments that concern my appeal, I will stay on-topic as much as possible.
    - My arguments will be completely based on provable facts.
    - I will not post my opinion in this appeal, and only stick with provable facts. If I show my opinion, it will be obvious.
    - What some people think about me should not be connected in any way to this appeal. There should only be looked at facts that happened and led to the original report being accepted.
    - I am not responsible in any way for the actions Lategum does/has done, except in this case. Lots of admins are friends with known scammers or even hijackers, and it should not influence this appeal.
    - I will not express my opinion about anyone, including all steamrep admins. I will show my opinion however on decisions that were made.
    - This appeal is only meant for me, and not for Lategum.
    - Besides this (and trading with scammers, my appeal got accepted for that) I have never done anything against the rules, and definetly not against the SteamRep rules.

The report I got banned for: http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/report-76561198122005972-tf2-team-fortress-2-items.83439/
The report that got accepted (trading with scammers): http://forums.f-o-g.eu/threads/10058-steamrep-tag-removal-downgrade-ban-appeal-eriksson.html

There are two reasons why I believe the scammer tag is unjust:
    - The accepted report was influenced by a personal opinion of an admin about me.
    - The reason I got banned is hugely exaggerated, and the concequenses of my actions have been taken out of proportion.

The accepted report was influenced by a personal opinion of an admin about me.

The date my report was created, is 17 Nov 2014.
The date my report was accepted, is 20 Jan 2016 at 4:30 AM.
This is more than a year time it took the admins to judge.

The date my trading with scammers appeal was created, is 4 Jan 2016.
The date my trading with scammers appeal got granted, is 20 Jan 2016 at 11:39 AM.
This means the report literally got accepted on the day my scammer tag (for trading with scammers) would be removed.

This means that my report only got accepted, because I would be tag-free otherwise.
    This means:
    - The judgement is based on an admin's opinion that I should have a scammer tag.
    - The judgement is not based on the actual facts provided in the report, otherwise a judgement would be made a long time ago, the same dates shown above are just more than obvious.

The reason I got banned is hugely exaggerated, and the concequenses of my actions have been taken out of proportion.

The reason why I got reported is:
Faking an offer, and selling items with the fake offer, making the buyer believe he would be able to sell it for more.

What the reporter said in his report (not literally, just summed up, you can see what he exactly wrote using the link above):
    - He got scammed (reason for the scammer tag)
    - He lost a lot of value

    'He got scammed'

Steamrep gives scammer tags for the following things:
    Charge-back or Reversal
    Quick-switching items
Receiving the item and not paying
Providing or soliciting fake reputation claims ("fake rep")
    Using fake middleman
Impersonating with intent to scam or abuse reputation
    Spycrabbing and then not paying
Accomplice or fence (knowingly supporting and systematically trading) for a banned user
Brokering (selling on behalf of) banned users and scammed items
Hijacking or hacking other traders (also includes phishing)
Alternate account of a banned user
    Falsifying evidence to SteamRep
Using game or Steam exploits to profit on trades
Anything that is deemed as deceptive or fraudulent trade activity by SteamRep admins

All of the above things have one thing in common: they are literally scams, and they leave the victim with nothing.

What I did, was telling the buyer that I got higher offers, and I had someone backing it up. The buyer and I came to an agreement, and we both accepted the items we were trading. I was very clear with the buyer, and I said I was not responsible for his actions. All of this is shown in the steam chat provided in the original report.

'He lost a lot of value'

Now here is - what I believe - the biggest misassumption of the whole report.
The reporter made it look like he lost a lot of items, what made the report get a lot of attention.
The fact is, however, that the deal we agreed on, was a more than reasonable deal, and I have evidence to proof that.

I have always been completely open about this trade, and thus I created a price suggestion about a vintage shortstop. Obviously, the price suggestion was not serious, and the bp.tf prices were hugely outdated. I just created the price suggestion to get a reaction from the community:
    http://backpack.tf/vote/id/546903bab98d8872468b4671

I want to use this price suggestion as an argument why the deal was reasonably fair.
In this case you should see the buyer as the maker of this suggestion.
    - The buyers implies on his report that he has lost a lot of value
    - This price suggestion shows exactly the values the buyer claims he got 'scammed' for.
This means the buyer would value the items this way:
    - Sunbeams Brotherhood of Arms 107,5 buds
    - Vivid Plasme Noh Mercy 29 buds
    - Vintage Shortstop 27,5 buds (27,5 buds)
These were the bp.tf prices at the time, and this would be the price difference he would claim he would've lost. The buyer never mentioned how much they were actually worth, because he wouldn't be able to make a report.

Now when we show the community the prices (prices he claims he lost), we get a lot of reactions, and they all pretty much say the same.
I will pick 2 reactions of very reputable traders/admins. When the bp.tf prices are told:

The beams boa is definitely too high, past owners had trouble getting even 60-70 pure http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21878424
    - A Delicious Cashew™ · posted about a year ago

As indicated. beams BOA is no where near 107.5 any more. That will need a suggestion first.
    - polar · posted about a year ago

These - and more - reactions indicate that the BOA was valued a lot lower at the time, and that the prices were pretty close.
If we take the BOA as 60-70, and keep the Shortstop and Noh the same (even if the noh was mentioned to be higher), we can see a more realistic view of the deal.

    BOA: 65

    Vidid Noh Mercy: 29
    Vintage Shortstop: 27,5
    Summed up 56,5

We can see that there is only a price difference of 13%, taken the prices the community valued them at the time.
If I compare this to other values, you can see why I think also this part of my ban is unjust.

    Profit:
    100% Scamming - SCAMMER tag
    90% Sharking - Nothing
    80%
    70%
    60%
    50%
    40%
    30%
    20%
    10% What I did - SCAMMER tag
    0%

Most people will realize by now, that all trades are in the 0%-30% prices range, and that my trade should be no exclusion.

(Important: I offered the buyer a repayment, since I still made profit from it, but not scammed him. We couldn't agree on a price, because we used different methods of pricing the items. I used the backpack.tf community's opinion, and he used the price I sold the BOA for.)

I believe that I have covered my case fairly well, I thank anyone that read this for their time, and I hope a fair judgement can be made.
