    1. SteamRep Integration
    a. Do you run Trade Servers? Please list the URL/IP of each server in your community that runs the SteamRep plugin and how many days each has been running it.

1a) We do not offer trading services at this time.

    b. Do you run a trade-related web application or community? List the URLs of the sites that run the SteamRep Web API and how many days each has been utilizing the API to block or mark scammers.

1b) We offer only a gaming community, webpage, Teamspeak, and gaming servers.

    2. Have you made any modifications or changes to the SteamRep plugin or are you running an unofficial plugin? If so, please explain.

    2) N/A

    3. Please list the URL of your community's Steam group.

    3) http://steamcommunity.com/groups/AWOLGAMERS

    4. Please list the URL of your Steam group containing your community's administrators.

    4) http://steamcommunity.com/groups/AWOLGAMERS

    5. Please list ALL admins (not in the above group) and/or moderators of your community below with links to their SteamRep profile.

    5) Our ranking of members is predominately done through our Teamspeak 3 server and our web forum. Our Co-admins, Admins, and Senior Admins have different responsibilities, first and foremost to Teamspeak. Some moderate game servers, some administrate game servers, some moderate the forums, etc. With over 350 members, I'd need specifics on whom you wish to see. The Steam group is an open, public fan group and not a closed member group. Please let me know how I can meet your request.

    6. What are your community's policies on scamming & scamming-related activities?

    6) Our community has a strict policy of no hacking or cheating. We have several basic rules beyond that, essentially amounting to respecting others. A violation of hacking, cheating, or the general rules is grounds for removal (depending on severity). Scamming and scamming-related activities would be a violation of our general rules and is not condoned. Information on a member taking part in scamming or related activities would go to a discipline committee. Repercussions would range from a reduction in rank, removal of any Admin titles/responsibilities, probation, removal from community, banning from community servers and forums, or any combination.

    7. Why does your community wish to exchange banners and become a Friend of SteamRep?

    7) As an anti-cheating/hacking gaming community, we do our best to keep out the baddies. We have a multi-stage application process that involves an electronic background check using several resources. The very basic and first resource, for some time, was vacbanned.com. We've recently started using SR in place of vacbanned.com as your site profiles a more detailed view of people's accounts and we're impressed with the setup.

    8. Please provide a link to your community's website (if applicable)

    9. Please provide a link to your community's Sourcebans or ban/report forum.

    10. Please provide a link to your community's stats page, hlstatsx or GameMe (if applicable).

    11. Please provide additional details about your community such as how it came to be, how long it has been around, the primary goals of it, what it does, etc.

    11) AWOL Gamers (Armed Warriors On-Line) was founded in 2002 by Ex-assault and a few close friends. It's steadily grown into a international, multi-platform gaming community for competitive and casual gaming. AWOL is free of racism, discrimination, harassment, and hacking/cheating. We take pride in partnering with other anti-cheating communities, such as ACI and PBBans, as well as utilize active admins who care about the games we host or support.

    12. Please post your community's desired banner (if not already on SR)

    Hello @sheptar !

I normally refrain from commenting on community / moderator applications, as I feel it is not my place to do so; however, I will leave a quick comment to answer your question. #4 is essentially asking for a staff steam group. For example, this is the /r/GlobalOffensiveTrade staff steam group. #5 is asking to list any staff members, who are not in the staff steam group.

Best of luck with your application!

Thank you for the clarification, schmed =) A staff Steam group for AWOL does not currently exist. To create one would, 1) take a bit of time and coordination, and, 2) only be made in response to this application. If that is the desire of the staff at SR, I'll get to work! AWOL uses SR for our background checks, the results of which are available to see on the applications of aspiring members. This, in a sense, promotes SR through a non-trading format.

Question #5 seems to build on question #4, which is in limbo (as stated above). With our population, the results would have to again be dictated by staff members reviewing this application. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

I'm pretty sure the staff group is absolutely required. It doesn't require any work though, just create the group and invite everyone, you don't need new ranks/restructures or whatever.

Thank you Enstage and schmed for the helpful tips =) It took a bit of time, but we made a Steam group called AWOL Admins with 37 or so of our most active Admins.

As far as the rest of our Admins who haven't been online to accept the group invite, I'm waiting on a roster update to list those. I should have that posted this weekend.

If they're not active enough to join your admin group, why are they still admins?

Hey Lava =) AWOL is both a competitive and casual gaming community. Some of our members have been in since the beginning, but aren't so active anymore. They've done their fair share to earn Admin rights, but for whatever reason aren't active anymore. School, family, work, and other things can get in the way of gaming sometimes, as I'm sure you know =) Also allow me to clarify what I mean when I use the title "Admin". Within AWOL, it mostly dictates a Teamspeak icon and Teamspeak permissions. Within that level of being an "Admin", members can then request to be the lead Admin for a gaming server, web page Admins, or earn their status with Senior Admin. The last is another Teamspeak icon and additional permissions, along with their word carrying a bit more weight around the community. Hope this helps!

So is your definition of admin an official representative of your community with elevated rights and permissions or does your admin simply translate to VIP?

Then you are going to need all of them in your staff group. If you are claiming that they are not active enough to join the group, then I say they are title-riding and collecting dust, which is something that I personally think is a bit silly, especially for a group as large as yours.

These are our two policies regarding the handling of admins during a "Friend Community" application:
    • Must have Steam group with ONLY your community's administrators in the group.
    • All community administrators & moderators must have a clean reputation - even those that may not be actively moderating the trade servers.

You are not complying with the first one so far, the second one has yet to be checked. Inactive administrators are also administrators and they are able to represent your community as such at any time. This is both worrying on your end and also on ours, should we accept you as friend community, as we could not possibly keep a good overlook of your community's staff, active or not.

Inu, the policy states we must have "ONLY" our administrators in the group. It doesn't say "ALL", and the group currently does contain "ONLY" administrators. For that reason, I'm not sure why we don't meet the requirements for the first policy. Are you reading between the lines, or is there something else being referenced?

You may not be familiar with AWOL Gamers, but I assure you there's no cause for alarm as things relate to the second policy. We check the background of all applicants, and just recently had six members attend a background training class put on by Anti-Cheat Inc. (ACI). Perhaps, due to the size of our community, I understand your worry with "keep[ing] a good overlook" of our community. We, however, have no issue with it. We keep our own in line and handle disputes, be them within or outside the community, very diplomatically. Members are not to harass, dual-clan, poach members of other communities, run unauthorized gaming servers, etc. We have rules and standards in place that are 14 years in the making.

As for the first point, I completely misread what you said and I apologize. You indeed only need to include your core administrative team and declaring the rest without adding them to the group is just fine, my bad.

As for your second point. All applications are being reviewed by people of our own and usually if issues are found and they are minor(such as an admin with too many banned friends), it will be brought up with you so you can remedy it. I did in no way mean to suggest anything, I merely quoted our two policies concerning admins of applicant communities so you have nothing to worry about. I was merely looking to clear up confusion with said policies, I in no way judge or decide on applications. Good luck :)

Is the Staff group up to date?
Are you guys still interested in being Friends?
    Why is your profile private?
What contribution can you guys give to SR and vice-versa?

Hello @Tio José das Vacas! I threw out some fresh group invites just now and asked a senior member to do the same in case I missed any. I'll also make a forum post to remind some folks. I'd say Monday would be fair enough time for you to check back for new additions. We are still interested in friends, yes! I changed my profile to public, but initially it was private just because there's already enough info about any given person on the Internet =P I was also a public servant at one point, which made me cling to privacy. As an ambassador and Admin of AWOL Gamers, however, it should be public.

We're a cross-platform gaming community. One of our core rules is against hacking or cheating. When anyone applies to become a member of AWOL, we perform a series of background checks to verify their information and see what kind of reputation, if any, they have. The initial check we perform on any applicant is a VAC ban check on their Steam profile. This is in keeping with the aforementioned core rule, but also to stay in compliance with another community partner, AntiCheat Inc. We used to use VACBanned exclusively, but someone discovered SR and now we use it instead because it provides another layer of information. That is what SR provides to AWOL. In return, we help bring in traffic to SR through the posting of SR results to membership applications (ie: increased awareness).

You talk alot about vac bans. But our main database is about banned profiles. Do you prevent banned users from using your forum? Do you prevent them from joining your staff?

Most of our forum is viewable by the public, aside from a member and Admin section. In order to post (such as in submitting an application for membership), one would have to make a free forum account. We don't have any stipulations for those. A banned profile would prevent them from joining our staff or general membership, yes.
