    What are your community's policies on scamming & scamming-related activities?
    - Marked scammers are permanently banned and are unable to trade with and/or rent a bot
    - Bot owners that weren't marked at the time the bot was rented, but are marked while having an active subscription, will be suspended and items will be returned to victims whenever possible, provided there's concrete evidence of that item being stolen​

    TeenyTinyCat actually recommended this to me. I don't see why not, I don't like scammers and I think I have a lot of experience when it comes to educating people about it. Besides, I hold a lot of trade data, perhaps I can share some insight here and there that can aid you in combating scammers on Steam.​

    Bot.tf officially launched in June 2016, with the mission of providing easy and affordable automated trading bots for everyone to use, without any knowledge of programming necessary. Since the start I've enforced a zero tolerance policy for scammers.​

    As mentioned, I suggested @MasterMinder apply for Friend community. Bot.tf/Danny have always been really cooperative with me/backpack.tf, particularly when it comes to helping protect users from inadvertently working with scammers. It would have been really easy for him to freely allow scammers to trade with the bots he hires out, as many sites do, but he's always used the Steamrep API to prevent that and gone so far as to block trades with backpack.tf-banned scammers as well as marked users. He also had an active community of helpers on his discord where regular traders could background check "obvious alts" and blacklist them to prevent them trading bot.tf bots. Since the backpack.tf rule changes on trading with scammers, those things have been relaxed as far as I'm aware, but I still think it demonstrates a commitment to protect users and to work with other communities and their rules. He is always responsive and helpful when I reach out to him on anything.

    We would definitely benefit from his insight and further involvement with Steamrep.

    The bots are rented out to say me for example, does the bot utilize our API to block communication or the trade with the tagged user?
    Just a little info on how it works and how quickly it works if ya can give any info.

    Whenever a trade offer comes in or whenever the user is attempting to trade a bot using chat commands, the user's tags are checked on both SteamRep as well as backpack.tf. These results are cached for up to 24 hours before checking the tags again, this is to avoid spamming API calls as well as keeping the service nice and fast. Whenever the user is tagged, the trade offer will be declined or the trade will be cancelled. Bans are permanent on Bot.tf, until they specifically appeal on Bot.tf, meaning they don't get automatically unbanned when a tag is removed on SteamRep and/or backpack.tf.

    However, bot owners' tags are checked periodically, every 5 to 15 minutes and are immediately banned when tags are detected. All items are put on hold and if there is concrete evidence available that an item was scammed, then said item will be returned to the rightful owner.
