1. There is no such thing as a "pending" ban or Steam admin. Anyone threatening your account is a scammer trying to scare you. Read more.

Funny question. Is this a scam, and what would you do for punishment?

Let's say someone newbie wants to buy your Kritzkrieg
    for one scrap.

You then distract them, and when they aren't paying attention, you quick-switch it to a strange Gunslinger renamed Strange Kritzkrieg.

So you took an item worth 1 scrap- and changed it to a weapon worth 26 - 27 keys.

What would you guys do for a scam like this?
Mark the guy? Or just look at him strangely and move on?
    ForteSP likes this.

Well, in my opinion, it's technically a scam, but I don't think we'll be seeing that happen.

    in reverse, yes.

Not seen so far that it was quickswitched to a higher value item.

I don't think it would be reported.

The scam definition would be that one would be duped into a lower worth item. Higher worth.... meh, I'd talk to the guy its:
    1. not the item requested
    2. the item is worth way more then the real one.
And ask: want it back or was this all intentional? altho I really know the difference between a gunslinger and a kritzkrieg, so it wouldn't happen.

Please show me one time that someone was marked for giving a 27 key item instead of the promised 1 scrap item.

While technically, it is giving something that wasn't agreed upon. Like DataStorm said, I doubt anyone would report it, and I think they'd be thanking the guy rather than thinking he was a scammer.

Well I should have been more clear I suppose.

Playing with hypotheticals and semantics is all well and good, and yes it would not be reported, but the principal remains the same hehe.

I still don't understand why even if you quickswitched somebody that you would put into the trade a higher valued item?

bro if you're only getting 351 kritzkreigs with 27 keys for it, you're doing something wrong.

And I agree, I'd think him too, right before I reported him for being a piece of quickswitching trash *shades*.

it still happens, just by distracting the victim with a overload of item switches (by victim)

I've had people try to quickswitch before. If they start moving items in and out of trade I just cancel. Its not hard to prevent if you pay attention.

let them, and report them... canceling without reporting them makes maybe another victim after you that fell for it...
