How do people get scammed while trading?

    I'm getting into dota trading on steam and wanted to know what to watch out for. I will never gift swap trade with anyone but I do plan to do actual trades. I will also never trade for real life money.

    What are the common methods people might use to scam? I ask because it really looks impossible to scam people on steam.
