Just alerting the community to this group... seems extremely shady. To me, personally, the program seems geared to be used for malicious purposes.

Would be great if we could get it shutdown quickly through reporting. The group in question:

those type of programs have been around for a long time. I still find it madness that 1 logged in account may invite 100.000's of ppl to a group without being friends or w/e, or more then a low number a day (say 5 or 10)

I always report everyone who invites me to a group.

One thing that bothers me on steam most is group invites. I automatically report them (not that it does anything), block them and remove them from my friends list if they invite me to groups, rofl.

Why report someone for inviting you to a group when you can just click to not join. It only takes a second to do that vs report people for being friendly or a random group invite that really isn't going to hurt nothing. Does it make you feel better to really report those groups or sit here and say you do report them but don't?

There are applications that will send out group invites in an auto fashion but that still doesn't effect anything, just don't accept them and move on.

I report them as well, but only if its a bot, showing 30 days not online etc. I get daily bout 2-3 group invites, its a annoyance. I know they cannot re-invite to the same group, but I DONT KNOW THE f✿✿✿ERS, so WHY would I ever join their group? I wont report if its a actual live friend in my FL, for that is what its for.

The group owner changed the comments of three users who posted in the discussion section, two were changed saying "ty for program" then banned the users from the group discussions. LOL, super legit.

I have actually looked into Steam Group auto invite stuff, and it is permissible under certain circumstances, however using any "script" from the net is just stupid. I know of one in use which is custom coded and private, invites ONCE only, but beyond that it would be foolish to use anything if you are not able properly check code yourself.

Exactly how I feel. I get invited to like 4 groups a day from these russians. THe other day I got invited to a group with 3k+ members and the picture was pornographic... It's just ridiciculus, that one actually got closed by steam support because I sent a ticket on that one, LOL.

I am going to report you for questioning his freedom to report as he sees fit horse! :p

Ultimately people feel they get a sense of "power" when they report. Over reporting only puts you on an "ignore" list of valve support so report away but just because you reported does not make the report valid. Only shows your lack of understanding how and what the report system is for.

To be honest, auto-invite bots do not actually hurt anyone or do any significant damage to the steam community that say a scammer would do, although they are very annoying I think people need to accept the fact that there are always going to be bots out their and just use the ignore all button.

If you just wait for them to pile up and at the end of every week you just ignore all then it's less annoying.

The one thing i wish steam would add is just a feature that does not allow users to even receive group invites at all.

Or at least block groupvites from users who are not "friends" or "friends of friends"

edit: or one simple setting: allow invites from users who are not "friends of friends" or closer to you.

not really if you have other things going on, like ppl adding you, offline messages, etc. so a green "button" on top right will always need a check.

I do not mind one-time only invites if you join a server/network/webpage (Gamers United sends a single invite the very time time you join a server for example), but I do not like all these bloody random ones. Due to PC issues, I have not been playing games for weeks now, but I keep getting random invites from all manner of weird groups.

I agree, it gets annoying after a while with these random invites. Especially those wacky groups that for no reason invite you.

It says it has been closed administratively, which means valve took action. :)
wtf, they can do that? I should be careful not to post in suspicious group discussions then.
