That's fair enough but still doesn't answer how Opskins is still operational since they are the largest of these kinds of websites and refuse to partner up with SteamRep. If what is said if fact they would have been taken down a long time ago thus I'll take them still being operational and not using SR over a passing comment from Geel9

Not going to ask them but there's some info here in to why they don't use SR: https://www.reddit.com/r/opskins/comments/3idfsi/why_are_market_steamrep_scammers_allowed_to_sell/

"We do not believe SteamRep to be a reputable source of information regarding scammers in any way. Bans they place are typically placed based upon incomplete evidence."

Please don't hijack this OP's discussion to talk about other communities' opinions on SteamRep. Their question was about building an escrow service, not whether/why they should trust SteamRep. I have split your post into a new thread so as not to derail their thread.

Due to confidentiality agreements, I'm not going to disclose or discuss anything that may or may not have been discussed with OPSkins staff/owners, but as is pretty clear from that post OPSkins was concerned about the evidence quality behind tagging practices from a certain partner community, not SteamRep's own tags. For those who are considering use of the SteamRep API but concerned about partner tags, however, I would like to point out that both the API and Sourcemod plugin allow for exclusion of partner communities you do not trust.

I was responding to your comment and linking into evidence to why OPSkins doesn't use your site. I just felt the OP was being mislead with Silents comment "In general they require that they use our API" This claim is not true which is evident by OPSkins continued operations.

I highlighted that this is not true and is evident with how OPSkins is still operational when they have chosen not to use your services and linked in reasoning / evidence into why they have not/ I think the OP could be interested to see this information and what you have done is hid this information from him.

Anybody who looks up your posting history here, will not take a "passing comment" from you either...

Go around all those communities who had near all their bots Trade Banned, and ask them... We heard this from them.

All facts, point out the lies. You seem to resort to trying to discredit, but say I spoke a lot of s✿✿✿ before what does that have to do with this?

Fact is: In this case you are using a comment from Geel9 in attempts to prove your comment correct where I am highlighting a working website that goes against what you have said.

Can you list off some communities you heard this from so I can ask them?

You think Scrap.tf was the only site who got that? told you already: make a round thru all the communities who had their bots trade banned by Valve, and ask them. They told us. One I personally worked with is tf2wh to get their policies etc on the rails, for all their bots got banned, holding hostage of items from thousands of users. I worked with them to give them a better chance to get their stuff back and the community their access to use their credits again on tf2wh. If you look up the policy (https://forum.tf2wh.com/pages/terms/) I talked with Triddin over several days for hours on end on what measurements they needed to implement to protect their bots against trade bans.

    The demands from Valve?
    - Work with SteamRep
    - Implement SteamRep API
    - Give Valve DIRECT access to ban accounts on WH.

So I talked with Tridding what policies and rules he needed, and they implemented a special admin page for Valve, implemented the SteamRep API to auto-ban the banned users. Most of what we discussed is not even in the rules, that went into background policies and implemented for their own safeguards.

The accounts Valve bans on their site? They won't even touch that. If Valve bans you there, there's no appeal possible.

Once all that was implemented, Valve removed all the trade bans on those bots.

Your example... why should I care? If they want to risk their trade bots, that is their problem. I don't keep tabs on their bots. And who's to say they didn't have one or several of their bots banned by now, and where unsuccessful in appealing that? if they even appealed that on Steam Support. Geel had scrap.tf's bot accounts banned over the years, some he got back, others he didn't afaik. WH got ALL their bots banned back in 2012.

I've been working with communities on the background for as long as SteamRep exists, I've talked with Valve on numerous occasions to improve trading. Hell, I emailed them last weekend for a issue with the new Valve "escrow" services. A bunch of changes to the betterment of the traders have been implemented due suggestions from us to Valve over the years.

Stay out of topics you don't know anything about.

With all you said my evidence still trumps yours... all you still have shown is a passing comment and I have shown an operational site that goes against what you have said.

What evidence have you shown that Valve demands sites use SteamRep? It's a bold claim to make without evidence.

BigMac...ya ever seen a 10 million $ in cold hard cash?

Most likely not - but keep in mind just because you've not seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The discussions with anyone such as a company like Valve is usually something you keep private otherwise SPUF would have a field day and their forums would implode with all kinds of whatever hype and flame wars.

Are you really one of those that feel if they argue enough or be loud enough that means you're right?

You have no idea what sort of arrangement Valve has made with OPSkins, as that's between OPSkins and Valve, chances are they have formed some sort of agreement with Valve that allows them to run their bots etc. without having to factor in the SR API. The fact that Geel9 stated that Valve requested that Scrap.tf use the SR API should be evidence enough, what does he have to gain by lying about that?

Yeah Ninja / Horse, I have no idea what arrangements there are but really just pointing out that from what I see (passing comment from Geel) Vs (functional website with no SR) that with just those bits of information I'm not going to believe that you need to have SR to be running a bot service when it's evident you don't.

I'm not running a bot service so you don't really need to convince me but I'm just pointing out that without evidence and from my perspective that statement come across as misleading.

You will just have to be disappointed then, nobody is going to show you things that aren't meant to be shown or private.

Yeah that's fine, you just can't expect me to take their word for it. At the end of the day it's a big comment to make with not much evidence.

But yeah like I said there's no need to try and convince me, I don't own a bot service.
