What happened? Description:

The accused sent a friend request to me the day before the scam attempt. I did not recognize him but accepted anyway. The day after he reached out to me and asked me how I knew he was a trader. I thought the question was strange, as he was the one that added me, but I then realised that he was asking if I had read what was written on his steam profile. I didn't think there was anything wrong with that, except that he said that he would give me extra if I did.

He then gave me his offer, he wanted to buy items and keys and offered 25$, except supposedly he'd pay 30 instead just because I checked his profile. That made me very suspicious as I knew my items where worth way less than that.

I said that I did not wish to trade with real money, which made him switch to offering Steam wallet funds. I asked him to prove I could trust him which he responded to with screenshots of his steam wallet, paypal balance, steamrep, and a few bank transactions. I knew that was not near enough to be considered proof but I pretended to be just midly interested which made him become desperate and say things that just made him seem more suspicious. I checked his backpack.tf and found that his inventory had stayed pretty much no activity. I also looked at his rep at saw 3 ratings, all describing scenarios similar to mine.​

Sorry I do not find your account balance to be proof that you won't try anything. Keys can be bought for 2 euro, there's absolutely no reason you'd want to buy them for that much higher. If you really want to make sure everyone you trade with makes a profit why don't you buy some keys and trade those for my taunts and war paint?
