What happened? Description:

Hello, I wanted to purchase a ROW version of Shootmania Storm, so I added the user because he was apparently selling one.
He told me that he didnt have the game in stock and so purchased one from the store, then he asked for a trade request.
His game was RU locked, and when I told him that, he told me some random thing and then blocked me and deleted me from his friend list.
I already reported him to Steam for Attempt to trade scam.​

Scam? LOL. I only bought the game because you asked me to begin with. That'll certainly teach me not to buy games for a random T who just added me, in the future.

If you don't even know anything about appids, then you shouldn't spout nonsense.

I just came across this thread. I am a game reseller myself(over 400 games in inventory) and I know that many games that has "(RU)" or "(RU/CIS)" do not mean they are region locked. Just try for yourself, activate the game, download the game, and play the game. It is not region locked. You asked for a ROW version(playable everywhere) copy of ShootMania, then here you go. You got a ROW version of the game, despite the "(RU)" in description. This isn't a scam.

I don't know how he got a Russian copy (he seems German according to his profile), but that isn't a region locked copy, is just a different version than a ROW one. For example, if you buy ARMA: Combined Operation in North American, the gift will have a NA tag, but the one difference with the ROW version is a logo when you run the game. Fallout New Vegas bought from a Eastern European country will have a Eastern version tag but it still support English as well as Eastern European languages (no French, Italian, Spanish and German support though).

A regional locked gift will show a red exclamation mark on left top side of the its icon.
