Not sure how far the investigations went into Blackened after FreshKidPee's post but I've discovered that Blackened has traded with yet more traders marked as scammers on steamrep.

    Clean Trader:
    steamID: BLACKENED
    steamID32: STEAM_0:1:16391632
    steamID64: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197993048993
    customURL: http://steamcommunity.com/id/blackened21
    steamrepURL: http://steamrep.com/index.php?id=76561197993048993

Traded with 3 marked scammers (One very frequently) (Note in 2 instances their tags have been removed since then, but tags were active during all the trades):

    steamID: SUNSPY™ [AFK]
    steamID32: STEAM_0:1:5408273

    Proof:
    Sunspy trade:

    http://www.tf2items.com/item/530927724
Flies Handyman's Handle traded to Blackened at 17:30 on Oct 20th 2011, Sunspy was marked as a SOP scammer seen here:
    http://steamrep.com/index.php?id=76561197971082275&t=1319091278

    Longfellowdeeds trades:

    http://www.tf2items.com/item/707992195
Steaming Swagman's Swatter traded to Blackened at 5:10 on Feb 12th 2012, Longfellowdeeds was marked as a SOP scammer seen here:
    http://steamrep.com/index.php?id=76561198048298218&t=1328790867

    http://www.tf2items.com/item/707073728
    http://www.tf2items.com/item/707073729
Cauldron Bubbles Mask of the Shaman and Scorching Bubble Pipe traded to Blackened at 4:25 on Feb 13th and back to Longfellowdeeds at 19:44 Feb 16th 2012, Longfellow was obviously still marked a day later. (Note steamrep link one trade above)

    http://www.tf2items.com/item/703250408
Bubbles Trophy Belt traded to Blackened at 4:36 on Jan 17th 2012, Longfellowdeeds was marked as SOP scammer seen here:
    http://steamrep.com/index.php?id=76561198048298218&t=1326747185

    M1ll3r trade:
There are thoughts that Blackened played an active part in middlemanning for M1ll3r and Cuddletime although the fact that it took ~20 hours for it to go from Blackened's backpack to Cuddletime, I have only included M1ll3r in this, despite the fact that it appears that Blackened was in contact with both.
    http://www.tf2items.com/item/657907705
Haunted Ghosts Fez traded to Blackened at 1:30 on Jan 10 2012, M1ll3r was marked as SR scammer and has long been recognised as a scammer, no apparent name change for the trade seen here:
    http://steamrep.com/index.php?id=76561198008243482&t=1326188862
(Note Cuddletime did change his name to Now what? but checking steamrep would have displayed SOP, SR & UTC scammer tags, seen here:
    http://steamrep.com/index.php?id=76561198007104861&t=1326158594)

Obviously such a well known trader would not be able to plead ignorant since M1ll3r and Cuddletime have been marked for their wrongdoings for a long, long time and the fact that he didn't check both parties steamreps before agreeing to middleman is totally careless.

All in all Blackened should know better before trading with marked scammers, not checking steamrep is not an excuse available here.

He's known for his sharking in TF2, current thread on Sourceop got closed because there was so much hate for him. Gonna watch this thread

He's known for the sharking yes, that's lost him a lot of respect in the community, but sharking isn't a markable offence. The evidence I've posted is trading with marked scammers, a taggable offence.

Admins feel free to correct me but I'm pretty sure I have stated this before somewhere. Since he has already had a warning all the trades brought into question have to be after march 19th or whenever blackened got his warning. Otherwise all evidence before hand is just useless.

Either way any evidence for or against someone is good information. Knowledge is power and all that. Having it documented is great, though I think this could still be merged with your report, FreshKidPee, for better effect.

My 2 cents: Trusted sellers, admins and any other long standing member of the community should know better. I wouldn't expect any warnings about trading with scammers because they're already everywhere on popular community forums and the topic of many conversations. Checking SR before you complete a trade really isn't that hard and a small price to pay for the well being of a trading community you belong to.

No matter what happens though, I have total faith in SRs decisions, always.

I am having other admins assist me in this as well. FreshKidPee does have a point, however- we need proof of trades with scammers after he received his official warning (as stated in his other thread). However, Chaos had a good point as well that any evidence can and should be posted as well regardless of whether or not we can action it.

So, feel free to keep posting in this thread as I get assistance from other admins on this. Thank you :)

    That......that really disappoints me.

All the damage he's done already, the Unusuals he's robbed (and had others rob), all that for a warning. It's not like he's some new trader off the block. He's no noob. He knew, and knows...exactly what he's doing.

This does ZERO for the community. Raises ZERO awareness. This may be far fetched but I think traders have the right to know that "hey, this guy that added you, he's taken advantage of tons of traders before you, FYI"

(Tried to edit my post but I see there's a time limit...?????)

I wanted to add that I love you guys here at SteamREP, anyone involved in the process of pulling the virtual weeds out of this community gets my blessing.

But all a warning does is allow him to sweep everything he's been smart enough to get away with at the time, under the rug. Fact.

While it's good that you're working hard to clean up the community, it makes people uneasy to see targeted witch hunts against anyone. As such, when evidence comes in for people the community is very angry with, we have to remind everyone that accusations require detailed analysis and it's especially important that the proof be strong when emotions are high.

Blackened has recently received his SR final notice for trading with scammers (for other issues).. That is the only warning he will receive and any evidence of trading with scammers found in the future (even if attempted to "hide" through an alt or similar) will result in a CAUTION or SCAMMER tag.

Older evidence of trading with scammers isn't really going to affect his reputation, unless it is obvious that he was trying to profit from stolen merchandise specifically.

    So let's address this report:
    • Longfellowdeeds was not truly marked as a scammer when Blackened traded with him. Longfellowdeeds was only temporarily marked because his account was hijacked-- from what I can tell, we've never had a report of any shady behavior from Longfellow.
      • His hijack tag was removed on January 11th 2012.
      • SR bug: Our SteamRep tag history made a mistake and showed him as marked for longer than that, but I reviewed our logs and discovered that was an error caused by a bug in code I wrote. (Oops. :( )
      • I've corrected his history so he is not marked any longer for those dates. My apologies to Longfellowdeeds for the error.
    • SunSpy trades:
      • SunSpy was marked as a scammer but has since appealed successfully. The items he traded were not believed to be stolen property.
      • Blackened did not directly receive the items from SunSpy (or there is no clear evidence he did) per the difference in times: http://screencast.com/t/iz0PrNwn60d
        • Any seasoned trader could use a private alt to hide tracks like this, of course.
        • Yet it is not clear enough evidence of trading with a scammer for us to CAUTION someone.
      • Despite this not being clear evidence of trading with scammers, it's questionable enough that it should be logged for future consideration.
    • M1LLER trades:
      • M1LLER was marked as a scammer for trading with scammers.
      • TF2items history is confused on the transfer date there. Notice that M1LLER did not have the hat on January 9th: http://www.tf2items.com/profiles/76561198008243482?time=1326158000 and the last time it was seen was the year before.
      • TF2items also doesn't seem to have a full snapshot of Blackened's backpack that ever included that item
      • As mentioned in the report, there is many hours before the history shows the item appearing in CUDDLETIME's backpack. It was likely held by an intermediary.
      • Despite this not being clear evidence of trading with scammers, it's questionable enough that it should be logged for future consideration.
These last two are certainly things to record so thanks for reporting them, but they're (a) not firm enough to punish and (b) not beyond what he has already been warned for.

If anyone finds evidence of this trader middlemanning or trading for marked scammers going forward (or using alts to do so), please report it in this forum.

If you have questions about any of the information below, please let me know, I'll be happy to clarify.
