    Scam Report

Report Type: [Item Fraud] Quick-switch trade scam or attempt
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 76561197998042573

    Victim profile: 76561197961580419

    What happened? Description:
    Short story:

He wanted to trade a very valuable knife and i sent an offer. He counter-offered and switched it to a much less valuable knife with the same preview picture in hopes that i wouldn't recognize his switch - classic switch scam attempt.

    Long story:

I was approached on CSGOLOUNGE by Papario (steam id - 76561197998042573) that he was interested in my trade for his Bayonet Crimson Web Minimal Wear StatTrak.

This knife is worth much more then the steam markets upper cap, frequently around 250 csgo keys and up. (1 csgo key is currently 2,29 Euro)

His post was: "if you interest, send me steam offert" - as can be seen in "pic1".

I went on to send him a steam-offer with items i thought was relevant for him to think about - as can be seen in "pic2"

He directly counter-offered, (as can be seen in "pic3") which is nothing unusual at all, there is a lot of dealing around in trading, as it should be. He added alot of stickers and a valuable item in the end and i started calculating what the total was of his counter-offer.
I realized that it was stupid for him to want all those small things so i double checked his knife and realized that he had SWITCHED his valuable knife to a NON-STATTRAK BAYONET CRIMSON WEB MINIMAL WEAR, which is worth nothing compared to his original knife.
They have however the same preview-picture, but it can be detected when you hover over the previewpicture as you see in both pic2 and pic3.

Proof of the steam user id can be seen in pic4.

I was lucky to detect this switch but my guess is that he has scammed many people with this method. He has a minusrep on csgolounge, as can be seen in pic 5, which is a bad sign.
