Description:
I found this individual on tf2outpost.com who was trading a giftable copy of Max Payne 3 and was asking for Earbuds for it. The trade can be seen here. I offered him 70 Refined metal instead and he added me. I checked his profile on Steamrep beforehand and he was not marked as a scammer and his profile indicated he played quite a bit of TF2. Unfortunately at the time Steam was marking game demos as games owned and his profile showed something in the region of 170 games owned, which reassured me. In my rush to trade I did not notice they were all demos.

We carried out the trade without issue and I did not take any screenshots because not much was said and I did not have any suspicions, having successfully traded for games many times in the past. He unfriended me after thanking me and I opened the gift copy to add it to my account.

The following day I received a Steam support notification that the game had been revoked due to fraudulent payment, and rather stupidly of me I did not take a screenshot before dismissing it.

I have submitted a Steam support ticket (of which a screenshot can be provided if needed) and reported him. I have also attempted to readd him as a friend without success.

Hopefully I will get the 70 refined back but I would like to warn future traders by marking him as a scammer. I hope I have submitted this report correctly, but please let me know if I have left anything out.

Just to update, I have received the 70 refined back from Steam Support, but am surprised not to see his Steam account suspended for the scam.
